Help! I'm addicted to Bhuz!!!
I could resist the old Bhuz.... but the new Bhuz, with the ability to see just the new posts?? I am helpless, I have to keep seeing what's new. It's fascinating! But I am addicted to Bhuz now! The new set-up makes it so easy to navigate... too easy, tee hee!
Anyone else have this problem?? It might be something Rosey can't fix!

who you tellin'? I've been addicted to bhuz for years. It slowed down when we changed over and I was able to resist it better (don't particularly care for the bells and whistles) BUT it's the content that keeps brining me back.
Oh. and the costumes.:Awhatchutalkingabou

Ditto! I was way more addicted to Old Bhuz (but then, I used Active Topics so I was always looking at what was new.)
I come to New Bhuz more out of habit than enjoyment any more. Knowing it's probably going to hang up my browser & force me to reboot keeps me away lots. I'm bored with making the extra effort to check on 'groups' and finding no real action there.
The content seems -- i dunno, fluffier somehow lately. Less hard cultural, linguistic, music & technique info, more gossip & costume stuff. I'm as guilty as anyone there, maybe it's a Spring thing?

I think it's because people keep wanting to post the stuff, but think it's going to be better received in a specialized group, and it doesn't happen.
I'd prefer to see the meatier topics on the forum -v- the groups, and that way I get my costume fixes as well

To me it seems like there are way more things being posted in the "Swap Meet" section, but then I think it's only because those new posts are all mixed up in the the rest of the posts, whereas in "active topics", they were by themselves at the bottom and I didn't need to see them if I didn't want to.
I'm still addicted to bhuz, but I hate the fact that if I forget to "mark forums read" I come back to 17 pages of new posts....

LOL - I think the conversations go in waves. Lately, the swap meet has been INSANE -- one gorgeous thing after another. I've never seen such bounty.
Who can think about weighty topics when they're surrounded by rhinestones? Not me!
The deeper stuff will come up, meanwhile we'll play!

Maybe its because the format is so spread out now? I haven't been on Bhuz nearly as much as I used to. I can't understand the purpose of "groups" and I get lost easily.... so basically I just follow Lauren around, hee hee!

Bhuz has always had times of hot topics and times when watching the paint dry was more interesting. I think there's a definite pattern to it.

I said it before and I'll say it again, I do not like swap meet items mixed in with discussion.

I dont know how I manage to get any actual bellydance done- but I do! Shrugs. I guess bellydance is my life outside of work and hubby.

We have been looking for a way to sort the new posts by forum. It is surprisingly hard to modify the code , but we are still working on it. We will figure it out eventually.

*waving madly at Latifa*
Hi Latifa! I am one of Habiba's students!
Welcome to the club. Most of my dance friends, (and Habiba, too, probably) are sick of me saying "Oh, I bought this off of Bhuz" or "I heard on bhuz that....." or "Yeah, I've seen her on Bhuz..."
Now when I open my mouth, a troupe mate jumps in with "Let me guess? Bhuz?"
(Also, I just wanted an excuse to use the smiley above.)

Great to meet one of Habiba's students! She is fabulous, but you already know that. Tell her that Tifer says hi!

Hey, I just came back from 8 days of non-Bhuzzing! Did you miss me?
Of course it helps if one can walk around Istanbul instead and if the free internet connection in the hotel lobby is situated in a very windy corner.
BUT I did some "live bhuzzing" with Emma from Sweden, so it wasn't all that bad.
Now I will have a lot of catching up to do! AND work?
