Reporting a Post function

If you click on the icon to report a post, the message you type gets posted in the swap meet forum. I reported something (no biggie now) and my entire message was posted for all to see.

I tried it again twice and the same thing happened.

What's it for? I don't think I've ever even seen the report-a-post function.
I think Bhuz should come with an illustrated instruction booklet....

The purpose of the feature is to alert the moderator to a message which you think is inappropriate in some way. Could be a personal attack, a spam message, a message by some adolescent guy who thinks it's cute to join message boards and say creepy stuff, or anything else that seems to fall outside the community spirit we try to have on bhuz.

Typically the purpose of reporting a message is that you want the moderator to take some kind of action - delete the message, keep an eye on the person who posted it to see whether they do more annoying things, ban the person from bhuz, or whatever seems appropriate to the seriousness of the offense.

Thanks for alerting me to this! It's not a function that's been used before, and it is evidently coming out weird. I will go in and fix this tomorrow.
