Email address already in use in Account Settings

Help Rosey! When I go to Account Settings in my profile, I can't alter the country/state/city info - when I try to do so and save this info, I get an error message that my email address is already in use.

I'm logged into bhuz, and I've tried clearing my cookies and cache and rebooting, to no avail.

(Also, I lost 35 posts to my number of posts, but that I can handle, no big deal.)

Help! I'm tired of being from Afghanistan!

(And if this addressed somewhere else and I missed it, sorry - I'm still getting used to New Bhuz.)

Oh- I jus posted about this in another thread and was about to clear my cache and cookies hoping it would help but then I saw your post- guess it's just one of those weird glitches that needs to be worked out...

After reading your post I checked my account settings and it seems I'm from Afghanistan too. Hey, maybe we're neighbours!

This happens because you have another account that has the same email address as the account you are using now. Send me your email address in a PM with the name of the account you want to keep. I can find your other account and delete it . Also let me know in this PM if your post count should be higher, I can fix that. You may not even remember that you had created another account. This site insists on email addresses to be unique for each account.

yes even after i cleared my cookies i can't update my location & get my bitty US flag cause it keeps saying "email in use". other than that i haven't had any problems. tina

Rosey, like Mish Mish I can't PM so I've sent you an email through the "Contact us" link. I don't want to live in Afghanistan any more............

Why don't you send me your location (city state ) and I will see if I can add it manually.

Thanks for moving my previous posts over. I still can't change my country of residence, I keep getting the 'email already in use' message. Can you delete my aziza_au account please so I can move out of Afghanistan and into the UAE.

After some research we have concluded that if your location isn't showing up it's because you haven't set your location in your profile. If you have tried to reset your location, or a password, and are getting an error message, it means that there is a duplicate account floating around in the system with the same email address. The system will not allow more than one account per email address.

If you are getting an error message when you try to reset an account item, please send me a PM with the username you want to keep, and your email address. I will search and destroy the other accounts.
