This is hardly a big deal in the great scheme of things, but might be indicative of some larger bhug.

Every time I visit the site I see:

Welcome, Monica.
You last visited: 04-27-2007 at 11:41 PM.

Truth be told, I have been here a few times since then.

New posts reflect discussions that have been going on since then, as well, as opposed to the six ours or so that have gone by since I last checked in.

I tried logging out an logging back in--same deal.

So--FYI.

The more of us that state this problem the better as I think we need a certian critical mass for it to be considered a 'problem'

My message states "You last visited: 04-28-07 at 11.25 am". I also have been in/out of the site a number of times since then, although I haven't actually logged out, as I can't find an option for doing that...I am also having the problem with 'New Posts' that others are reporting.

At last check, I had 9 pages of "New Posts" to scroll through!

I have logged in and out on each visit since reading Rosey's reply to Zafirah's problem, but Bhuz doesn't seem to recognize it. I've also restarted my computer several times *and* removed cookies. I don't get it...

doing "mark forums read" under Quick Links seems to reset it, and you don't need to log in and out. But I do with it would recognize visit time correctly.

I have been in and out quite a few times since then. It always used to reset new posts and change that little notice. Not any more.

when you are on the home page (not the forum page) it's on the top right corner "logout"

It's all making sense now (NOT!). When I go to the home page there is no option to logout. I didn't get this, until I looked at the top left hand corner where is says something like "Welcome guest. Login or signup". Well, when I come to the forum it says "Welcome, deelybopper", so I'm clearly signed in...but can't sign out. Which explains the new posts problem.

I am trapped in Bhuz! Help!

ETA: I managed to log out by going to the Groups section, then the LOGOUT link did appear in the top right hand corner of the screen! Wahay! However - I still have 10 pages of new posts, most of which are not since my last login

You don't need to log out!!!!!

Seriously, you don't have to go through all that, and it won't work anyway. The only way to reset your new posts is to hit "mark forums read" in the quick links menu when you're done reading. Then the next time you come back, it will correctly show you posts since then.

I did as antimony suggested, and it seems to have worked. My login time/date has changed, and I no longer have 10 pages of new posts screaming to be read! This seems to work well with 'Today's posts' which is available in the Quick Links menu as well - so you can see new new posts, and also posts which haven't been updated since your last visit.

the quicklinks works BUT i haven't read all those ones i marked read...now i have to remember which ones i already read each time i mark forums read. there has to be another fix to this bug?

Yes, it's a bhug, its on the list of things to figure out. We also will figure out how to sort the new posts by forum instead of by time. This is proving to be very difficult, I can't find anyone who is willing to tackle it. However, it is still on the list and it will get worked on eventually.

Just wanted to report that I had the same bhug, but it appears to have worked itself out about five days ago. I didn't log in/out or try any of the other solutions. I just waited to see what would happen, and now the site is again keeping accurate information of what I have and haven't read.

So thanks for whatever you did, Rosey! I'm a happy Bhuzzer.
