I changed my profile picture last night and again this morning, and each time I got the "Your profile has been updated" message, so obviously there is no problem with the size of the picture. However, the old picture is still there. I've done all the logging in and out stuff, but it made no difference.
It is 120 x 90 and I assumed it was accepted because I got a message something like "Your profile has been updated but it will take a few minutes before everyone can see it" I've done it twice, but my old one is still there.

Well, thanks for your answers, I guess I'll have to stick with the old one, life's too short. Anyway, the profile pictures are so small, probably nobody would have noticed anyway.!
Amulya, you don't have to upload it in that it doesn't have to be hosted on another website to use (I'm assuming that's what you're referring to).
From this page go to the top left hand side and click on 'my settings' and 'edit avatar' this will take you to the page where you can browse your computer and 'point' to the avatar you want to use...then click on 'upload image' and voila! it will be done.
