I just uploaded two pictures on My Page, thinking that they would go into my personal gallery only. But they seem to have also gone to a public gallery page. Is that automatic or is there something that you have to do to keep them on your own page?

They are in the public gallery as well as in your own gallery. If you go to your profile, just below your avatar, it says "view more pics", if you click on that, it will show up just your pictures.
