wanted: review of new Saad album
Does anyone have the new Saad album "Dance of the Heart" and want to review it? Most places don't even have a track listing for it yet, let alone the chance to hear samples.

Re: wanted: review of new Saad album
I hava a Saad album, but I'm not sure wether it's the 'dance of the heart' cd. Do you have an image of the frontcover? I should really organize my cd collection in a more efficient way, but I remember most music by the image on the cd cover.

Re: wanted: review of new Saad album
From what I saw, it looked liek it was him and a bellydancer on the cover.
The older album was called "Prince of Shaabi". I think this one just came out.

Re: wanted: review of new Saad album
Just listened to a couple of tracks, liked the first one "Samany Salam" which seems quite dance-able. This CD contains "Hatgawaz," which I assume is on an earlier CD since it's been on youtube for so long -- but maybe I'm wrong? Hmm, maybe I'll ask Miles tomorrow.

Re: wanted: review of new Saad album
I have ordered it and it should be here any day now. I'll give a review ASAP once I've given it a listen or two.

Re: wanted: review of new Saad album
hmmm, my Saad CD is called "keset Elhai Elsh3by" I don't think that translates to either of the above, does it?
Mine has El Einab and Hantour on it...

That's a movie soundtrack -- different CD but with some overlaps. And I know this how? Because I buy every single Saad CD I find!

Re: wanted: review of new Saad album
THANK you, Latifa! That explains why almost every track has a clip on youtube featuring Saad & Dina! (now I want the movie!)

Re: wanted: review of new Saad album
I picked up this CD at Borders last night (they have that 40% off CDs coupon thing going on again).
I haven't listened to it thoroughly - just a quick preview of each track. My husband was dancing around during the first track, so that's a good sign. I already like Saad's style, so I like this album.
Side note: Wouldn't it be nice if they would include lyrics/translations for the songs?

The movie title translates to "The story of [life in] the Shaabi quarter/section [of the city]". I want to know who all those weird characters are in the Hantour video! Maybe Shira, our Arabic movie maven, will find a copy somewhere and fill us in!

Re: wanted: review of new Saad album
I am sure that the store across from Fishawi's that sells cds and dvds will have it.
only be careful which dvds you buy - mostly it's vcds and they don't all work - I got two "duds" that don't work at all (no data on them at all according to my pc).
