Never order from Nckelmann's!!!!!!

I ordered a custom costume from Neckelmann's in the early part of December. They told me it would take six weeks to make and send out the costume. After eight weeks I contacted them They then told me It would be another two weeks. Weeks and phone calls passed. I finally got my costume in mid April and guess what it doesn't fit. The bra cups are too small and the band was way too big. The belt was fine. I tried contacting them about fixing the bra and they sent me a email telling me I could send it back and that they would refund my money. I sent the costume back within five days. Well I got home today to find they returned the costume to me telling me that they would not take it back. I know it takes time to make these costumes but when I looked on their website I noticed that they had had plenty of time to make many of the same costume in different sizes and colors. Those weren't there when I ordered mine. They are a horrible company. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY LIKE I DID.

People have had bad experiences with custom orders with them in the past... the advice I've heard is to only order their already-made costumes on ebay.

My custom made took forever, too. I sold it to Annie and I've seen her wear it. I know that they are super fast if you buy the ones that are already made.

I loved my Neckelmann's & my daughter loves hers. We bought them off the rack, though, on e-bay.

My student who ordered one loves it, too, even though the colors weren't what she asked for!

I've heard over & over to only buy ready-made from them or you're likely to have fit, color, and/or style issues. To be fair, the same seems to be true of all the major designers, and their costumes are MUCH more expensive.

A few years ago their customer service was excellent according to a dancer in my area. Maybe they have trouble keeping up with their orders, getting things mixed up and such.

It sounds a bit as if they didn't have your cupsize and someone thought making the band bigger would compensate it.

I know some of you have no love for Neckelmann's, but mine's fantastic: it's a showgirl style in insane shades of orange and fuschia, with hints of pink and red. Bizarrely, it goes with almost all my L. Rose: I've worn it with ruby, crushed orange, purple, even turquoise. It's also awesome with the raspberry ex-Bahaia cut-out pants I bought from Jewels and picked up at Rakkasah.

Mind you, I didn't order it from them. I got it used from Mish, so she dealt with the delivery hassles! I had it on hand in two or three days.

This freaked me out because I read it before my troupe of 13 were supposed to get the bras/belts in. But they did come in! And Early! Just the way we wanted - some were custom made and some were in stock. So we had a good experience with them. Maybe it's one of those hit or miss situations???

My bra is not sturdy at all. (C cup) It has no support whatsoever. I only practiced in it a few time, and I will change the straps to a halter to see if it helps. That is too bad because its gorgeous and I love the look!! I had it made in black, gold, and cognac color, got a cream satin skirt with chiffon skirt over, hand made gorgeous long angel-type arm bands... /sigh I hope the alter thing works, or i might be looking at selling because I just need that support!

Amity -- I had to shorten the straps on mine & then reinforce them by stitching heavy ribbon inside the straps, so they weren't stretchy anymore.
