I would like to get an elegant real silver bellychain, just like the girls in Cairo. So a simple chain, with no hangers on it or an end that's dangling. Any ideas on where to get it? I've searched ebay but can't find what I'm looking for..

My friend made me one, she bought silverchain and just attached a lock to it. I don`t think its too difficult though she has some skill in it. Maybe ask some store that sell silverchain and make them attach the lock.:)

Barabara, I too did an exhaustive search a while back for belly chains and drew blanks. In the end I thought I'd have to make one (but haven't gotten around to it). If you do find anything on line please post and let me know.

I bought a 32" box chain, stearling sliver, for about $25. It fits my waist just fine.

I got one for my 30th birthday from a friend who's parents have a normal jewellery shop. She even let me choose between 3 models!
So maybe you are searching too far? Go and ask in any jewellery shop.

I also found some belly chains in the accessories sections of cheap clothes shops like H&M.

And now let me tell you that with a belly chain you will get a new range of admirers! You know, the kind of men who comes to you after your performance and tells you: "I was totally fascinated by your belly chain!"
Yes, I am not joking, this happened to me more than once!

At some jewelry stores you can buy chain per meter. Then add a lock, and done! You can try the cheap stores like luigiani (sp?) or other jewelry stores. I've also seen a stand on a market in Belgium, maybe they sell them on the Albert Cuijp too?
