I couldn't resist inserting these smileys for Zumarrad's benefit!..w;;

I'm still kicking the tires of the new forum software, so I'm playing with features, and posting messages primarily for that purpose.

But now, on to the subject of this message....

I just received a new documentary in the mail today titled Saving Egyptian Film Classics. It's about an effort being made to go into dusty buildings full of old reels of movies whose media are starting to disintegrate and do restoration work - transferring them to newer, durable media, etc. So many of the old Hollywood movies from the Silent era have been lost forever, and apparently the old Egyptian movies were in similar straits. I haven't had a chance to actually view the documentary yet, but I'm looking forward to it.

I don't know how people stand that sort of a job for a living...just moving my own personal videos to DVD format nearly drove me bananas...it's not like it is difficult...just time consuming.

WTF, I wonder if I posted that image in the wrong thread. Wierd. Sorry about that. SHira that documentary sounds awesome. I hope they recover lots of films with bellydancers in them :)
