Yes, if you have any questions about custom ordering through Sahar, I am definitely the one to talk to. I have custom ordered 11 costumes through her, and I currently have three more on order. There is a thread that I started a long, long time ago in the fitness, beauty and costuming section with all the contact information. You can e-mail her husband as he speaks fluent English. He is very good about responding back same day or the next day. Send him a jpeg of the costume you want with your measurements and he will give you the price, including shipping. It takes Sahar 2-3 weeks to make a costume so the turn around is fast. You will need to wire the money first before they start the costume. They send the costumes via Express Mail and FEDEX. Let me know if you have specific questions, you can send me a bhuz e-mail.
Also, I went to TheBellyDanceStore website. I guess since the costumes were sold, they will pulled off the site. Post pics please!!

Alright, I've had it.
I want to see these Sahars on their new owners, and I want to see pics of Christina in her Sahar collection.
Now.
Don't make me come back there.

These costumes (well, the ones I can see, anyway. Most of them are now "out of stock") are gorgeous.
But....I have to ask...why are they so expensive? I mean, they are beautiful, don't get me wrong, but $1300? There doesn't seem to be much intricate bead work on them, they are more on the simple (and elegant) side, and if she can turn a custom order around in three weeks, then she is not spending excessive amounts of time on each costume.
Are they lined in 14K gold? Seriously, though, I want to know. Why are they so expensive?

Because they are made for people that actually have good taste and can afford them! it's like belly dance couture
lmao ..........I'm kidding. it took 3 moths to pay it off
why I keep buying from sahar? because
the costume fist you like a glove......it hugs your body...... I just can't explain........ it's not made of gold but make me feel like a million dollar.....
the designs are very unique and chances are that maybe 1 out of a hundred dancers will have the same costume you have........
The fabric she uses is made in heaven
they are very very sexy and elegant at the same time
I think Christina will be able to explain more........
But if you buy straight from sahar the price drops a little......... but she will be more than happy to design something according to your needs
I just got another one from her and will get another one soon......
will post pictures as soon as I have a chance!

I did not buy into the hype about Sahar costumes until I put one on. They just fit...like they were made for you. I can't explain it.

Well, you ladies make them sound amazing! Unfortunately, I don't think I'll ever get to try one for myself! Even if I had $1300 lying around, my fiance would KILL me if I spent it on one costume!

You can go through some old Sahar Okasha threads on the fitness, beauty and costuming page where I go into great detail regarding the quality of Sahar's costumes.

Well, her costumes are amazing and you will be totally pleased if you ever ordered one. Forget your fiance, use your own money to buy it!

Sahar raises the price for me! But then again, I don't order her "standard designs," I order the really high end ones that she doesn't even advertise. Other than that, I *wish* she would drop the price for me. But that's fine because the price goes up for me as I usually ask for extras such as accessories and additional stones, etc...

Ha! There's no such thing as "my own" money....it's all "our" money now. I get reminded of this every time I try to buy a new costume - it's "our" money, I can't just go spending it willy nilly!

That's why hubby & I keep separate finances, even after 16 years together. I can't deal with the concept of 'our money,' so I just pay half of 'our bills' with 'my money' and he does the same. I know that reflects lack of committment to togetherness, or whatever, but it saved our relationship!

Actually, most of my friends who are married operate in some variation of this way. Some keep completely separate accounts, and some keep their own accounts and a joint accout that they both transfer a set amount into each month. The idea of completely merging my finances with someone else's gives me the heebie jeebies. (Though I don't have any opinion one way or the other if anyone else does it with theirs)

Yes, you can negotiate a discount with Sahar, if that's what you mean. But because I usually order her really high end costumes that she doesn't even advertise, even with the discount, they are still more money for me. I'm not complaining since I am choosing to order these costumes. I love them!

Yes, I feel your pain. I do have to ask my husband if I can buy these costumes because they are so expensive. And as a general rule in marriage, its good for both partners to discuss when they or one of them is about to make an expensive purchase (costumes quality as expensive purchases).

Christina, I tried contacting her but haven't gotten any response yet. I'm REALLY intersted in buying/having a costume custom made. What should I do? Is there a number I can call? What happened to the website?
What to do????????????!?????!!!!!!!!
