Haven't seen the book, but I have the core conditioning dvd that they released at the same time. I really like the dvd for a good solid workout on the days I can't get to the gym or go to dance classes. Lots of emphasis on ab and lower back.

I waited for months for this to be published... I was so excited, as I think they are lovely dancers and I thought it would be fun to hear their ideas on bellydance as way of life.

I was very disappointed. Their beauty advice is very basic, the kind of tired old stuff that's been done over and over. Basic nutrition advice, basic pamper-yourself advice... I think the whole problem for me is that everything in the book was very basic and surface-skimming, nothing unique about it except for the inclusion of some bellydance stuff.

There were some exercises and moves, but nothing I hadn't seen in most other books on the topic. I didn't actually purchase the book (although I would have if it had been good) so I can't comment about what might be on the DVD.

A few middle-eastern recipes were included but nothing earth-shattering. They talked some about costuming, but that too was disappointing because they didn't include many pictures! If the book had been more visually interesting even, with glamorous color photos of the twins I would have felt like I got at least that much enjoyment but there just wasn't enough.

I guess my whole feeling about the book was that I had seen it all before. This might be a nice gift for someone just getting into bellydance but I think those who have had a longtime interest might be somewhat bored.

They used to have a free monthly newsletter they'd send out via email with all this same kind of stuff. I bet they just put it all together to make the book.

I still get the newsletter. It's kind of nice. A lot of it is pretty basic, though. I do like receiving it, though.
