Faten DVD from Little Egypt

I ordered this DVD from Little Egypt...Faten Variety DVD. The dancing and teaching is wonderful but it stuck in my player after 42 minutes (about half of it) and refused to continue. I tried cleaning the DVD and the player to no effect. I have not heard any response for a request for replacement from Little Egypt after a week of email. So I may be out my $50.00. Sad that the quality of the DVD is so poor when the teaching is so wonderful. The Randa DVD from Little Egypt plays just fine and is a very nice.

Hi there,

I've had this problem with DVD's too... I think it stems from the DVD's being homemade, and copying errors occur. In the past, I've put DVD's which have stuck into my computer and then I've been able to watch them without problems.

If you're in the States you'll probably have better luck calling them. I've never received a response to an email I've sent them. Pretty much turns me off of dealing with them at all, since I've bought some of their videos (second hand--I would never pay top dollar for them) and have been appalled at the poor quality.

One of the business partners posts here on Bhuz; perhaps she'll see your post and take pity on you and answer. In any case, I wouldn't let this go. Don't reward them for their abysmal customer service.

I have experienced this as well. If all other players fail, my computer usually works. But this can depend on how old one's computer is.

Hi Christina,
I have had problems with quite a few of her DVDs, half of Faten DVDs wouldn't play right on my multi-regional DVD player. I just recently bought a new DVD recorder, and they all play nicely on my new machine.

PS: Calling Little Egypt is your best bet. DeeDee is wonderful to deal with. Sometimes they are super busy and probably need to be reminded about something.

Yes, your best bet is to call.

Right now they are doing State Fairs . . . just back from New Mexico and starting the Texas State Fair here in Dallas this weekend.

PS. I am not a business partner. Nora21 does post here sometimes and she is their daughter.

I heard from Dee-Dee a few days ago and they are going to replace it. I realize the quality is sometimes not the best, but I really enjoy the teachers, so I am willing to keep giving them a try, hoping they will improve.

I'm quite pleased to hear that I'm not the only one struggling with these problems as LE made me thought when they finally replied my questions!

Once a year I afford an order (and usually this contains several goods) - as I'm a hopelessly devoted fan of dina and randa, I try to get all of the current workshop tapes and therefor LE always has been the first choice.

The last two years I really had big trouble with them - they still owe me a CD I paid but it never arrived. They sold me a videotape as 2002-WS that I gained one year before as 2001-WS. And then there was a Dina WS for 60$ with the most worst content and recording I've ever seen - fortunately it only runs for 20 minutes! No reaction on my complaint.

I thought it over for a long time but finally made a further order this year. And again, one of the Dina WS suddenly ends after 30 minutes, no matter if you play it on Computer or DVD-player. I think 60$ is quite a bit expensive for half an hour of incomplete teaching. I managed to get through to them and they promised to send another one - and I received another copy of the terrible DVD from above (the 20 minutes one).

I was so angry that I've sent both DVDs back to them with the demand that they should take a look at them so that they know what they sell to their long lasting costumers!

I really lost my confidence but I don't know what to do - there are so few alternatives.
