The Best IAMED Performance DVDs?

I am looking to buy two (or maybe three,haha) IAMED performance DVDs. I'm just not sure which ones to get. Are there any that you'd highly recommend? I think I'm going to get the most recent one as well as two others (maybe three ) I don't know! Tell me which ones you like. I am mostly into oriental, but I wouldn't mind seeing some good tribal.

Well, my favorite one is Rockin' the Casbah. It was my very first BD video and kind of holds this little place in my heart because it was that video that made me fall in love with Aziza, Jillina and her dancers, Dalia Carella, Sa'Elayssa and on and on. It was this video that opened my babybelly eyes and realize that this dance could really be taken to a performance art level.

my votes would be for Rockin' the Casbah and the 6th Awards of Belly Dance. I think mostly for Aziza's performances on each, but a lot of the other performers are good as well.

Rockin' the Casbah was def. one I was thinking about. I'll have to look at the 6th awards. Anything with Aziza in it is great!

Rockin' the Casba, Bellydance Live! and Bellydance Sensations! both make the cut for me.

I've only seen two of the IAMED performance DVD's. I really like Fourth Annual Awards, which I feel has consistently good performances throughout. I'm not so fond of Hollywood Babylon - that one is hit or miss, some performances that are really good and others that bored me a bit.

I haven't seen the other ones that people have mentioned on this thread.

I like the 6th. awards the best, has Bahaia, Sahra Saeeda with Melaya leff, Zuhra Zuhair, and Shareen El Safy on the dvd/ video. I havn't bought any recently (the last couple years).

i think any Bhuzzer should enjoy Sensations. aside from having a bunch of very nice performances, all but three of the performers are Bhuzzers! most of the performances are Oriental, but not all. standout non-Raqs are Marzue's Tahtib and Meissoun.

and it has a surprise special guest appearance by the back of Farida Fahmy's head!

Ok, so I'll get Rockin' the Casbah, Bellydance Sensations, and the 007 one. I've narrowed it down to three! WOW! I already have the Rockin' the Casbah one, although I need to replace it because it's skipping. Don't know why...

we just bought a dvd/cd cleaner at bestbuy for about $40 works really well on everything we had that was skipping and is easy to use. you might want to try that, it's handy to have around

I own all the Awards Series and I just gotta say the first one rocked my world! The music was live for a large portion of the tape, and I was introduced to so many styles. Cassandra came out in this strange (to me..at my educational level for that time) lunatic asylum white robe and hopped about for a really long time. I was just looking for ooooo shiney doing pop Turkish at that time. Little did I realize I was looking at one of the best performances ever done. I do now. Later on in the same tape she came back out in leopard bedlah and showed me what a relaxed self assured classical Egyptian routine looked like. Not to mention Alexandra King and her absolutley mesmerizing Turkish Rom number to live music. I dont care if it is the oldest one...get it, it is still the one I go back to time and again for inspiration.

I didn't like the first awards at all. Yes, Cassandra is good and so is Amaya, but honestly I thought most of the rest was very poor to mediocre or just plain bizarre. There are better vids of Cassandra and Amaya, I'm sure.

Yeah...there was some of that...but the good was just so good. Perhaps it was just that the sequined scales fell off of my eyes at that time. I do still go back to that one time and again for those particlar cuts. If there is better Cassandra..I want to know about it! Give it up....

I liked the First Awards because how often do you really see a Zar? And a great one was given by Cassandra. i was completely sucked in by that performance! I loved her oriental too!

Honestly, they are all great. I didn't care too much for the 5th awards but my all-time favorite performance was Jillina in that green costume on....belly dance live? When she had the costume malfunction. Such a wonderful performance.

But you really can't go wrong buying any of them! I should know, up until recently I owned them all! Now I just have to buy the belly dance o rama and the 007 one!

I still think Belly Dance Live is the best one yet! I love Dellilah, Sadie, and Aziza, and to have them all on the same dvd is like heaven to me!

My first was the 4th (Is that the one where Ansuya opens?)
Love her performance on that and also the Jillina bits

3 is good too.
