Re: Oriental Moon have a look!!

A couple of our items did not fit properly but we did have thirty altogether and I brought 10 other back too!
The Nile festival is on now so they have been bringing in extra staff to help. They turned out to be were lazy and not very good. As far as I know they have been shown the door and orders have been delayed to correct everything.
Dont worry, I have had lots from them and know lots of others too who have been very happy with them. If you are not happy, they sort it for you. They dont just send it and disapear. Their service is really good. At the end of the day you cannot expect 100% everytime with long distance made to order in another country. I use them now as I have had many many problems with fittings, colours and finishing with all the other big costume names and they cost me alot more money than these did.
Let us know how it goes but dont worry too much.

Re: Oriental Moon have a look!!

Sorry for this late reply!

The first costume had many small flaws: it had 2 ‘stones’ already loose from the bra when it arrived, the gap between the bra cups was too big, the drape on top of the skirt was attached at the wrong side, the slit in the skirt was not in the right place, most stones on the skirt were not symmetrically glued, the glue was everywhere and the costumes finishing was just horribly done.

But mostly I was very disappointed with the second costume: both fabric and design were not what I ordered: I requested for red stretch glitter lycra but it had been made of a lycra top and a tulle bottom, both covered in fabric flowers. Furthermore the short in the skirt was too small for my behind (so butt cleavage as a result), the top of the bra cups sat very strange opposite to the breasts, and the drape size and shape were really different from the original.

After a good thought I decided not to have them remade nor ordering 2 from the new collection, but just have my money returned.

I'm very sorry it turned out this way, but I must say their customer care is really good and insh'allah I'll try another order in the future.

I hope your costumes work(ed) out alright!

B

Re: Oriental Moon have a look!!

Oh Dear...
One of my orders was a bit like this! it was a shock as they are usually very good. I think they found it hard to cope with the festival coming up and the internet orders they recieved. I heard they did exceptionally well at the festival and are still busy with the knock on effect. They are sorting my orders later this month. I have had errors with just about everyone in Egypt so it is not real big shock for me, I sort of expect it now. I use them because they have great ideas but above all, the customer service is great. I have been helping them further with this and others are too. Randa is now on their client list.
Maybe you can catch them at a festival so you can see what you are getting.
What I find about internet ordering from Egypt is, if you stick to their model and fabric and design, you are usually ok. Problems start when you ask for something altered on the design etc. If it is badly made then it is the fault of the workshop and they need a good telling off!

Re: Oriental Moon have a look!!

The first costume should have been like the animal with flower print that Lorna is wearing (apart from a different bra shape) and the second costume should have been like the white drape costume Lorna is wearing, but in a different fabric (lycra in stead of lace). So I don't think the changes were that difficult.

Unfortunately there are no festivals around here where they (or the other designers from Egypt) are vending.

Anyway, as you arranged with Hibba I'll be sending you the costumes in a couple of days.

Oriental Moon have just updated their two collection

Oriental Moon Atelier - Leading Designers in Raqs Sharqi Couture

I hear from them that Randa has some to sell on her visit to the UK!

They will also be at Raqs B.

Bad news is they are slowing down on internet orders. It used to be two weeks! now its about two months..

After Mandy said she wasn't bringintaking the Shimmy Shop to Midlands I thought my wallet was safe, but apparently not! Especially if Randa's going to be selling the costumes.....(I am of course assuming that by being in close proximity to her some magic will rub off on the costumes )

I guess fringe is now out of style in Egypt?
