I like the Diva collection. Not digging the pants but I like the rest. Thanks for sharing. Anyone bought from them before?

I have seen the green dress and bra in red...gorgeous and a special order in teal again with the drape sleeves and beautiful jewelled sash and it fitted the dancer perfectly.
A lot of it is very funky but I do like the dark dress and the green one ..anyway they will design just for you...
And doesn't Lorna look good in those outfits?

Re: Oriental Moon have a look!!
Unusual, I don't like the bra shape, makes the boobs look like 2 hard round balls - a bit weird, probably OK for the smaller boobs, but for the heaver and larger, I think it could be a disaster. I personally don't like the pants, but the younger lasses probably would. The denim one is awful I think, looks very cluttered and not very elegant at all. I don't mind the green dress, or the black one, but in the black one the boobs look strange. But it is each to their own

The bra shape actually looks good in the flesh and is very secure. But I do think all the costumiers like to make "the girls" frightening.
No the denim one is a costume too far but I love some of the pants ( even though I wouldn't wear them,) and I like the prints ( which is unusual for me)

I agree, not keen on the pants, and the denim one is bleugh.
I do quite like some of the more classic two pieces, and dresses though.

I like the black and blue pants ensemble. Not sure I would wear it but I like the design. :) Some pretty things and a few yucky ones (not diggin the denim). The model does look lovely tho!

Re: Oriental Moon have a look!!
From what I gather they are cheaper than the established costumiers but I couldn't tell you exact prices. I know my friend was very pleased with her custom dress which looked beautifully made and the red (or was it pink?) version of the green dress with bra I saw was equally nice.
A comment from a dancer who has visited them was: they are mostly posting their latest "Cairo designs" that appeal to dancers who want the latest fashions but they have a lot that is more conservative and they will make to your ideas!
I think they will be worth looking at because as new designers they will probably start off by establishing themselves with sensible pricing and ensuring quality. I hope so because there's few of us getting kitted out by them for a show!!!!!!!

Re: Oriental Moon have a look!!
yes, prices would be helpful. some of the designs are stunning, some, well, not my taste but i'm sure there is a dancer somewhere who would rock it!

Re: Oriental Moon have a look!!
A friend of mine is just going to Cairo and I hope she will check this one out.
So I can add it to my recommended shopping list.
Does somebody have a description of "how to get there"?

Re: Oriental Moon have a look!!
I have been to Oriental Moon twice since they started last September.
I was very happy with the service and plan on using them alot.
What did I like?
The flat was really nice and not hectic like other places. It was relaxed and they had samples so you could try them on which you dont get at other places.
The workshop is based elsewhere so there isnt the distractions of lots of people.
Fady the co/owner is very nice and used to live in Orange County so his English is fantastic (a big help) the designer speaks no English but worked in Cinema before and has designed for all of the big names in Dance and movies.
They are very 'current' with the styles and some people like to stick to the fringe and bead format, so they dont suit everyone. I got the Black Malika one (girl with Blonde Hair) and it was the most fantastic piece. The pic's are not the greatest representation of what they do actually.

Re: Oriental Moon have a look!!
I really liked a lot of their designs. I had emailed them a few days ago about prices, inventory, ordering etc.
Caroline the black Malika was actually one that I inquired about. Would you mind giving us an idea about price?

Re: Oriental Moon have a look!!
The Black Malika was £200 about 2000Le. Traders get a better price.
I am going to Cairo at the end of the month as I have an order for another in Royal Blue from a friend. The back is ruched with large sqaure jewels sewn on. There is a long stretch chiffon sash on the front and the body net is sprinkled with Diamontes. Another freind in the Isle of man got this model and she is much shorter and rounder but hers also was made to fit perfectly.
Their internet prices are the same as buying direct in the fashion house and they are very straight forward people to do business with. nothing is too much trouble, but not in the usual over the top Egyptian manner.
