For those who miss "Active Topics"
Some folks were saying they don't like the "New Posts" feature in this new software because it lists a limited number of messages. I might have a solution for those of you who have mentioned this.
If you use "New Posts", when you scroll down to the last one listed on the page, look off to your right, just below the last message listed, and you'll see a list for page numbers. You will have just viewed page 1, but you can click on the 2 to see more. (Or, if there are more than 2 pages, keep going...)
I admittedly don't have a solution for those of you who liked them sorted by category, but at least you still have the option of seeing all of them rather than just a few.

My solution is to go to the right side of the screen where it say display mode and I select threaded. Then I have a pane where I can see all the posts and scroll down through them to the message I want to see. What I like about this is you get to see the first several words of someones post.

Yeah, Im really missing this. At least with the old format you could get all the posts in all the groupings...now they are spread out in order of posting, rather than in topics...which is irritating coz I always used to browse The Rest section first when initially coming onto Bhuz.

Why not then just go to "The rest" first, read whatever is new and interesting, then when you go to "New Posts", any threads you've already looked at won't be bold anymore so you can skip over them?

At the top of this page click on "Bhuz Forums" (just above "My settings") then you can click on the individual forums.

Thanks for the suggestion. I played around with that - it's better than nothing, but it's just not the same functionality. (I know, I must sound like a whiney know-it-all, but I can only repeat myself - this was a function that set Bhuz apart and allowed for a use of the boards that made a big difference as compared to e.g. Orientaldancer.net, and I can help but mourn the loss of that difference.)

I'd also add, that when I'm browsing the forums, I don't look at each & every single new post. So I click on Mark Forums Read at the foot of that main Forum page when I'm closing down, to avoid those posts still showing up as unread next time I'm checking New Posts.

I used to have 'active topics' bookmarked, it was how I 'entered' Old Bhuz. I don't seem to be able to do that here. Anyone know how to bookmark the unread topics?

I right-clicked for the properties, and the URL seems to be:

D'oh (love Lauren's icon for that!)
I just found the Quick Link for Mark Forums Read, that's going to make life that little bit easier!
