The scarab
I love the artwork and look/feel of the new bhuz. But now that you've added the scarab, it seems to sort of clash with the beautiful artwork behind it.
Because I work in marketing for a living, I understand about stuff like brand identity and having a consistent, recognizable image. So I'll understand if you think it's appropriate to keep using it. But I must admit I've never liked the scarab, and I don't like how it looks with the new bhuz artwork. But this would be a good time to re-think the logo?

Re: The scarab
I agree, the scarab is new and shiny, and the artwork is aged and antique looking. They do kind of clash a bit. And to be honest, I never really thought abut the scarab much as a logo - I mean, as much time as spend on bhuz, if someone showed me the scarab out of context, I don't know that I'd make the connection to this site.

Re: The scarab
I never saw it without the scarab, so I don't have a problem with it being there. But it is very yellow-looking now. What if it were "antiqued" a bit?

Re: The scarab
I am going to have to play around a bit before I can even give an educated response to the site.

You are all pointing out something we actually gave some thought to when we were planning this transition. The scarab and the logo font are just lifted directly from the old site. We think it's ugly! (Well, we got used to it on the old site). But it seemed that for transitional purposes, just so people recognize the site, it was a good idea to just keep it for now. Maybe in 6 months or so we will find a new look for the logo.
We welcome any ideas.
BTW, this is a test of the multi quote icon. I clicked on 3 posts and the " icon turned red, so MAYBE when I post this we will see 3 quotes.

Now I got it! you click on the " icon for the posts you want to quote and then you have to click on the icon that says "quote" on any of them, and then you get a message box with all the quotes.

I agree, out with the scarab! In with the new! Then, when you come up with a new logo (can we all vote on it? That is very Bhuz like), you can put it on cafe press, and we can all buy your merchandise, so that when we go to events, we can all gather together like lemmings, or somethign. Im very wierd today, I think. I apologize.

This is a great idea; perhaps in a few months we will run a contest of some sort for suggestions for a new logo.
