Well, here it goes. To be honest, I don't love this new look Bhuz, but I recognise I have no choice in the matter, and I know lots of other people will like the additional functionalities.

What I do like: The artwork is pretty.

What I don't like: The stars twinkling across the artwork *all* the time. I think they look lovely when you first arrive at the forum, but the constant movement after you've been here a while feels very busy and stressful to me. I would like it best if there was a way that you could see the pretty stars when you arrive, and have them settle and stop.

The ad layout in conjunction with the new banner. Again, it looks busy to me. I personally would rather see the ads go all the way to the top than sit under the banner. It may be an artefact of the banner colour and texture, which is pale but not without detail, and whatever block of bright colour/movement somebody's booked at the top of the ad column.

The typeface. To be honest, it seems to me to fight with the forum typeface. You have a "soft" homespun handmade look with a set of standard forum boxes and faces stuck below and to me, aesthetically, they fight. Sorry.

What I'm not sure about yet: Everything else. The profile setup seems to be good, though there are two pointers I notice - gender seems to redefault to male, and also? Cabaret is spelt cabaret, not caberet. It would be awesome if that could be fixed.

I don't know if it's just that I'm getting used to it, but it seems to look better now. I'm viewing via IE rather than my usual Firefox. However, the pixels are not gone, as I posted on your blog! When I saw the avatars loaded on the front page, they all looked perfect, so only here on the forum do we appear squishy and more pixellated. THere must be a better resolution to use or something I'm not aware of.

I'm with you on the falling stars. Too busy.

My other initial thought--I would prefer to leave out the "friends" and super-detailed homepage capabilities. We are all friends (well, maybe not lately) most of the time and I would like to leave that kind of thing to other sites that many bhuzzers frequent like Tribe and Myspace.

Also, some of the pull down menu choices for dance style, specialities, etc. are frustrating because I just don't like touting myself as an "expert" but I also don't like the "nothing" choice because that makes it sound like I'm a total schlep.

Sorry to start with complaints--I will mess around more to see what else I think...and make some positive observations as well.

The drop down boxes on the profiles can be changed, and I welcome any suggestions you have. I've made them a little simpler for the pictures and events.

I think the stars are pretty - rather hypnotic.

The ad banner does look a little cramped but, ads usually do - there are so few options with them and they're a must.

I don't like it yet, it's taken me much longer than usual to find my way around, but I'm slow to adapt to change. Also. seeing a big box proclaiming "Jahbie has no friends" wasn't the best start to my morning.!

I'd like to see the friends thing go...if I wanted a myspace, I'd have a myspace.

Like Zafirah I'm also missing the active topics option - I liked that that showed me what had been going on since I last logged in, so I could catch up...

Other than that - I do like the new look, even though it will take me a while to get used to it.

Isnt the "New Posts" thing the same as active topics? If you read them you can mark them as read using "Quick Links", 'Mark Forums Read".

Loving the new Bhuz! There is even a 3am Zill Brigade emoticon available, what more could we ask for

Yeah I felt the same when I saw I had no friends either!

But I do like the new site and once I find my video footage I'll try to upload one and see what happens.

Still finding my way around but safari doesn't like the site too much (I do:-) I keep on getting a warning the I can't manage to get rid of Every time I open a new page... I really need to be a bit more comp savvy.

One complaint, major for me but maybe not so important to americans but, Can we Please get rid of the 'cabaret' on the Oriental option in the profile? Defining myself as such is cringe worthy.

Yeah! I know it's difficult to find ALL the styles and mixes, I would say imposible! But at least the main styles? Oriental is too wide, it contains all and cabaret is used only in America. This is what comes to my mind: Egyptian, Turkish, Lebanese, Am. Cab, Tribal, Folkloric. Others help!

What would you suggest that would work for everyone. We are trying to have a very limited number of options, feature creep sets in and suddenly the list is very long.

I'd also like to see the friending function go. I feel like we're all friends, so my options are either to friend everyone or not to friend anyone at all. I don't think it adds anything to the forum.

Could we possibly change the Dance Style option in the profile from a drop-down menu to a box that you fill in yourself? I know many people here dance more than one style or would like to be known as dancing a more specific style than those listed, so perhaps it would be best to let everyone define themselves.
