What does the lil point looking star thing mean on the profile?

I kno I have been apart of this site for awhile but I can't figure it out what it means..I don't kno if its a good or bad thing? I have no clue...so plz can anyone help me out.

It's to do with the contributions you make to the site- starting threads, posting pics, blogs, music etc. You also seem to get points if you comment on other people's pics, blogs, music etc.
