You might best be able to answer this question...

How many Members does Bhuz have?

I'm curious about statistics...

What is percentage of regular posters?

What is the rate of growth of membership?

What is the average log-in time (for those of us who actually log off)?

Is there a way to determine these things?

I'd love to know!

1. The number of members is posted at the bottom of the Forum front page, right now it's over 10,000
2. I estimate that about 2000 people are more or less regular posters. Many people join and use the site but don't post, they read the forums and cruise around. In addition, many more people look but don't join - statistics below.
3. I can't track the log in time.

Here are statistics for today from the site:
New Members: 13
Comments Posted: 14
Pictures Added: 67
Polls Posted: 2
Polls Voted On: 19
Blogs Created: 1
Messages Sent: 167

About 600 memberss are on the site every day (not the same people every day!); not all of them make posts. Around 3000-4000 non-members look thru the pages of the site every day. So, membership doesn't tell the whole BHUZ story.

Bhuz has about 500 new posts every day That's a lot of posts!
About 35 new threads are created every day.

Have you ever thought about auto-purging old members who haven't logged in in a long time?

"Back in the day" when I ran a dial-up BBS, it was pretty common for users to be deleted if they hadn't logged in within a certain period, ranging from 30 days to one year. In the case of my BBS, it was 120 days - it had been 90 for years, but I kept having old users have to re-register, so I bumped it to 120 and old re-registering users dropped to essentially zero.

Keeps the data base a lot smaller! I know there are users who won't ever be back for whatever reason...

Oh please don't auto purge!!! I only log in once and never log out...unless my firefox dies a death and then I have re-sign in

This hasn't been a problem at all, so at this point I haven't seen a need to do it, but the time may come.
