Getting the STAR POINTS

OK i'm looking and I don't see an instruction on gaining more points.

And what do the stars beside the points mean?

You just blab a lot! Just post and the stars will increase...I think it's kinda funny that I get rewarded for being a wise ass gas bag! Why look ,one more blab and I get to go to 1000 posts...think I will do it right now! Wonder if it will get me another star? Let's find out....

As Anala said, the stars on the message board represent how many messages you have posted so far. The more you post, the more stars you get.

In your profile area, the points are awarded when you do stuff like posting a blog entry, uploading a photo, post something in a group, etc. You can use those points to "purchase" gifts to send to other bhuz members. It doesn't cost you any money to send an e-gift to a fellow bhuzzard, but a couple of points are subtracted from your total when you do.

You mean the points on your profile page?

You get those for adding pictures to your gallery, entries on your blog, comments on other people's profiles, etc etc etc

This thread What are "points"? may help

And now there is a use for your points- you can use them to buy bhuz gifts for your friends, like chocolate, or champagne, or a back massage, or chicken soup, if they're feeling poorly, or a birthday cake.

Aren't we (humans) funny? We don't even have to know what the points are, or what they're good for. If points are being given out, by golly, we want to know how to get some!!!

I read somewhere on this site that you can send other bhuz members stuff with your points. Is this actual stuff? Like if you get a bazillion points you can actually send someone a cake?? Who sends it? (Clearly obvious to all those reading this that I must be the last on the planet to discover a message board as this whole thing is blowing my mind.)

Nah! Sadly it is not real cake, or wine or flowers.... It's all virtual stuff. But it's still nice to receive!

If you want to send a virtual cake to someone, click on their profile, and in the box below their name there will be a link that says something like "Send a Gift". That brings up a range of gifts you can send them- flowers, cake, chicken soup (if they aren't feeling well), shoes, a rubber duck, a costume, a back-rub, whatever... If you've got enough points you can send it to them. It will then show up on their profile.

Cool, or what?

Ha! That is way cool. NO wonder i am getting addicted to this site. I find new features everyday (plus i love perusing the swap meet and even though i don't have anyplace to wear those beautiful costumes i see, it's fun to fill a virtual closet)

I find myself just camping out here. Great fun
