Re: double veil DVD

I recommend Aneena's "Double your pleasure, double your veil".
Tons of information in there!

Re: double veil DVD

I liked Alynes (sp?) double veil dvds - there are two technique and one choreo out there - I only bought the technique one. You get printed notes too on the technique. I preferred Petite jamillas actual workshop to her dvd though.

Re: double veil DVD

No choreo on Aneena's DVDs, but some suggestions for combinations.
Personally, I like to make my own choreos, so that suited me fine.

Re: double veil DVD

I only found it for sale one place...and I can't afford to spend that much on a DVD right now.

Re: double veil DVD

I have not seen Alyne's or Aneena's DVD's, but I have taken workshops from both and felt that both taught the topic well in the workshop environment. So in both of their cases, I would consider their videos as being worth taking a chance on.

I HAVE seen Petite Jamila's DVD and I do NOT recommend it.

I have also seen Mezdulene's Veiled Visions, which teaches a few single veil moves, a few double veil, and a few cape work. Mezdulene's is okay if you're interested in sampling three different styles of veil technique, but the production quality is poorer than the typical no-frills video. (I'm sorry, but adequate light is NOT a frill.)

Re: double veil DVD

When I wanted to learn double veil I sought out every DVD I could find on the subject (somehow I missed Aneena's, though -- thanks, Meissoun), but in the end just about everything I actually learned came from Alyne's DVDs (I later managed to take a workshop from her; it was nice to not have to feel like a raw beginner). Production quality is not the greatest, but she covers a lot of material and demonstrates it well. Incidentally, it looks like the choreo DVD has not actually been produced yet.
Here's her website: Welcome to Alyne's Belly Dance Web Site
