DVD's with Choreographys

I'm looking for suggestions of DVDs that have some instructional/technique basis to them but also a full choreography. I'm interested in all styles of bellydance-troupe or solo performances. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated as I don't want to buy 20 DVDs and only find 1 or 2 any good. Thanks ladies

How much experience do you have and at what level do you consider yourself?

Re: DVD's with Choreographys

Woops probably should have included that as well. I am actually looking for a range of skill level. Personally myself I would consider an intermediate but I am looking also on behalf on the new round of beginners starting next week. Need some fresh ideas and drills, but I am also wanting to increase me skill during my own time as well. During the week I fly out to Argyle Diamond Mine-I am an Environmental Advisor out there so I have lots of free time in my room at night where I do my own practice and choreographies. I'm looking for anything really-bit long winded aren't I

Re: DVD's with Choreographys

Are you looking for a choreography whose music is commercially available? In other words, is it important to you that you be able to obtain the music on either MP3 or CD? That would influence the suggestions I would make.

One good video I can suggest is Keti Sharif's Jewel of Arabia. It's designed for an intermediate level of dance skill. She does some interesting things with it, such as suggesting ideas for varying a choreography to make it your own. Here's a link to my full-length review of it: Belly Dancing: Shira's Reviews of Instructional Videos, Alphabetical List

Re: DVD's with Choreographys

I have several reviews on my multipy website (see my blog for link to it) of videos I recommend. I personally recommend Jillina for choreography, (basic Egyptian style raqs sharki) and Delilah for lots of technique in her 3 set series of DVD's. Jillina's DVD's go quickly over technique so you need a basic to intermediate to advanced knowledge to comprehend her tutelage, depending on the DVD. Hope this helps some. E-mail me w/any questions!

Blessings...
Eve
