Purple fabric or purple(red?) bra wanted. Help me complete my beautiful costume!
Hi ladies,
I have a lovely costume, but the bra unfortunately does not fit. The costume is made of this lycra fabric:
If anyone has any extra fabric in that color and pattern (sequined or un-sequined), I would love to buy it, so I can cover a bigger bra to match.
Or, if you have a 36D/36DD/38D/38DD bra or bra/belt set in purple (or possibly red) that you think might match and would like to sell...lets talk!
For those who are curious, I'm adding a picture of the costume style.

This photo is copyright bellydancewithk's photographer.

I don't know how well the bras at Victoria's Secret fit you...they have ones that are gorgeous and I bet you could find a nice one in the color you want, especially if you go for the red. You could do some quick embellishment with purple sequin trim or acrylic sew on stones. If you try to match purples take your costume with you....they're notoriously tough to match. Good luck and I wish I could help you out more.

Consider finding a red or purple bra or cover a bra with red or purple fabric. Cut away the fabric on the bra cups that came with the costume and use it to cover the upper edge of your red or purple bra or simply use the designs as an applique. Or use sequins and ovals of fabric in those colors to create the design on your bra. Of course you could aim for contrast and cover one bra cup in red, the other in purple and go from there. You could also rouche fabric over the cups of your bra and apply the ovals in random locations.

A friend of mine had that dress in turquoise/red. It's a very cute dress. The bra didn't fit her, either. She took a well-fitting bra in the right base color and wrapped a glittery scarf around it to cover the cups. It looked great.

That's excellent advice on bringing my costume to the store to color-match. Thanks!

I was hoping to find a "plain" (ie, no contrast) sequined/beaded bra to use, but all your ideas are excellent. I especially like the different color cups idea - thanks!

This may be the easiest fix of all. Thanks!

You're welcome. Please post if you find a source for the plain sequin bras, I've been looking for one of those myself.

I've got a couple of nice red Lane Bryant bras left over from a costuming project, either 38DD or 38DDD. They are new and have stiff cups. If you can use something like that, let me know and I'll get you the specifics!

Thank you so much for the offer! I already have base bras, but if I have to cover them myself, I was hoping to duplicate the fabric to keep the "matchy" look. The costume is not that old, so scraps must exist somewhere! Maybe I should look in Egypt...

have fun in Egypt!
Or, if you choose not to do that, I'd see if I could find a purple lycra to match, cover the bra and then embellish. PIA, but that might be the easiest way to go about it!

I have a purple lame bra top for sale on my site:
Purple Lame Bra Top
I bought it but never used it. It fits my friend who is a D. LMK if you have any questions.

I might end up going that route, but Quick and Dirty is likely to get done sooner.

That's very cute! My bustline is usually somewhere between 40 and 42 inches these days (big boobs, medium/narrow back). Do you think this would fit?

Re: Purple fabric or purple(red?) bra wanted. Help me complete my beautiful costume!
I stretched out the bra (the back is all stretchy elastic and it stretched to 40 but that was a max. I would say more for someone who is a 38 for a comfortable fit. The cups are versatile and deep and would accommodate a D easily. Hope that helps :-)

OK, I am definitely interested in the violet lame bra, and will post/PM you late tonight with a yes/no (gotta check my current measurements! ). Thanks for checking!
Does anyone know how to put the little marky thing over the e in lame? Lame without the mark just looks lame.

Hi Ravena,
I'm at 42 now, so I don't think it's going to work. Thanks for the offer, though!
