Found Liquid Silver fabric
Found and traded for, thank you.
--------------------------------
I have liquid gold, blue and pink, but not silver. Of course that is the one I need now and of course my local Joann's doesn't have it anymore. I'm not looking for tissue lame, but that poly stuff with black on 1 side and liquid color on the other.
So, DUers, anyone have a chunk lying around that I could buy and make into a skirt? Thank you.

Woohoo!
I would like enough for a circle skirt, or even a couple panels depending on price/amount available. I just measured a circle skirt and laid flat is 68 inches across. So, anywhere from 2-4 yards sort of range.
How much do you have and what would you like for it? I'll try to check back later, usually check in daily at some point.

Re: ISO Liquid Silver fabric
Hey Jaziri, I have three and a quarter yards of this stuff, plus a few scraps (I could look through them to see if there might be a good piece for a waist band). Would you like to trade? I find that it's far more gratifiying to swap and it challenges our creativity to do so. If you have an equal amount of fabric to trade straight across that would be awesome! I love this fabric and my classmates and I just made cholis from it. I'd keep it except my machines like to munch on it! I could use good advanced instructional dvd's, appliques, any kind of kooky stuff to make costumes with, or even premade casual costume stuff. I'm a medium/large on the top and a large/extra large on the bottom. Let's have some fun!

Re: ISO Liquid Silver fabric
Hi Doozer, I'll check and see what I can come up with as I've got a room of misc stuff, from ethnicky to glitzy to bits in between. Sorry the photos are rather washed out, having a difficult time since it's sunny today here in the great Pacific NorthWet. I can try for another photo if you are interested.
How about some lace panels? 54 inches wide by 65 inches long, with fringe of 6ish inches on both ends. I have 2 black ones that I haven't cut into seperate pieces yet (pieces are hooked together by fringe). Feels like some manmade thing, lace has flowers in it here and there. I thought of making drapey dress or skirts (where you tuck 1 end of scarf into front, run between legs and tuck other end into back) or something, but they're just sitting there looking at me.
Or how about a cotton skirt/top set with some shisha mirrors and scattered small cowrie shells? Top ties in back around neck, has fully covered front and back (not tie choli) and is 12ish long (shoulders to hem), bottom hem is 28" wide stretching to 36", sleeves 12" underarm-edge, 14 1/2 shoulder to edge. Skirt is 33" long, 33" around stretching to 42", hem 4 1/2 yds around.
The top part of the skirt is white, with orange/green/red/white paisley pattern, a few mirrors and some shells.

Hi, sorry it's taken so long, been busy. The skirt/top I wore once, think I washed it also, then decided it's too cute for me. The top does NOT have an open back, I was hoping to get a pict of it on someone but she got sick and I didn't want to get exposed to another round of upper resp stuff. I took another pict inside so the color looks more like it should. This is of the back of the top, shows the keyhole bit and tie.
The fabric is cotton, not the thin gauze but regular thickness fabric, if that makes any sense. It needs ironing around the hem, would probably iron the whole thing before I wore it. The colors are bright, not faded as it's been worn once, washed once.
I also have several yards of a couple other stripped woven fabrics. I'd thought of making a ghawazee type dress, or galibaya, so the cloth sits and waits.
1 is white/blue/green, 3/4" stripes, 65" by 4 yds
1 is smaller stripes of black/white/occasional pink and orange. 65" by 3 yds

Re: ISO Liquid Silver fabric
Hi Jaziri, I'd love to have that little choli/skirt set and whatever fabric you'd like to pass along to me...a friend of mine REALLY wants a cotton ghawazee coat so this would be great for her. I'd say the white/blue/green striped fabric would be perfect, as it has more yardage and my friend is pretty tall. If you don't have plans for the other piece and want to let it go I'd be happy to take it so I can make a coat for myself. Let me know if you need some $$. Thanks!

Re: ISO Liquid Silver fabric
Hi Doozer, I tried pming but it said your box is full. Thank you very much. I'll get the skirt/choli packaged and out in the mail Monday and will let you know I sent it. Long day here, hoping will be warm again tomorrow as I'd rather be working outside in my garden than a really long day inside at work.
