ISO Reg practice top with mesh netting in the middle

Where could I find a regular black practice top with mesh netting where the stomach area is? I saw my instructor with one one, and now I want one! She prefers to see my stomach movements more, but I wear bulky tops.

Most of the mesh midriffs I see are on leotards, but you might check Sharifwear. They at least have a full-length fishnet top you could wear over a crop top or sports bra for a somewhat similar effect.

I'm hooked on buying the stretch lace tops (the kind you get in the naughty store), cutting it off just under the arm holes and stitching it to a full back choli (that I've probably made). It makes it long enough to tuck in well, longer than just putting one on under a choli. If you buy a stretch lace chemise (kind of a long tank top nightie) that fits you snugly in the midriff you can cut the hips open and wear it under your choli, tucking the chemise under your hip belt or scarf. Every time I wear mine classmates ooh and ahh over them. I don't hesitate to tell them my secret, of course!

I think I'm better off with a plain ole' mesh unitard. Just the tops are hard to find. I've gained a little weight lately, and I'm probably a US 16, and a D cup. Do you usually buy unitards smaller or larger than your size? I've never worn one, so I'm a little concerned.

Hey Fan, I'd go larger, especially with a D cup as most commercial patterns are made for B-C cups these days. I bought a Eurotard mesh middle leotard in a size large and I really could have used an extra large. You probably should ask the company you choose if they line their tops....mine is lined and it flattens my B's into nonexistence! In other words, a lined top might give you uniboob or worse, squish things from under it, which incidentally happened to me the one time I didn't wear a regular bra with it. Thank goodness no nipples made an appearance! Honestly, the home made tops are so much more comfortable and they're easier when nature calls. If you have a friend with some sewing skills maybe you could swap? If we were closer I'd help you out for sure....I hate to see friends uncomfortable or unhappy with what they're wearing! Just another thought...my teacher wears normal light weight tops with Turkish vests. She always looks nice and the vest helps us out visually when we're working on upper body isolations. There's the added bonus of fun with coordinating colors!
