loading website to front page from disk

Erifily is still sleeping bless her heart but my work day is ending soon and i'm still trying to figure out how to load the website to front page

i tried going to dialog box, open web, then Akai Silks which is the address and it will either tell me its not valid format (it needs a path i suppose like c drive or d drive etc (yeah i have no idea what i'm talking about) or it says that file is not available

Erifily sent me a disk with all the web files in it, they are in different folders such as background, different catalogs, etc. Do i first need to save these to my computer in a folder then have frontpage get them out of the folder? What folder do i save it to?

I've tried opening the web by typing in the url and by trying to get it from disk but both ways i'm stumped and clueless

i use bizland.com and i know how to get into ftp manager can i do it that way?

thanks guys i hate not knowing how to do something on my own

btw Erifily RULES at making websites here's her site

Re: loading website to front page from disk

Well is it in a zip file on the disk? Copying the disk with all the folder structure may help, but exactly what are you planning to do in frontpage? Do you want to edit the website?

If you just want to view the website, find the index file or default file in the top level directory, then open it in your web browser.

Re: loading website to front page from disk

Save a copy of the ENITRE folder to your desktop, don't move anything from one folder to another (breaks links unless you change it thru frontpage)

Wherever you're loading frontpage (godaddy, tripod, etc.) you need to click some hidden button to allow frontpage extensions.

open frontpage
go file-open website
click on the entire folder you save to your desktop (not just individual items within the folders)
then play!
