Porn site linking to my website - need advice!

Am quite concerned - I just checked my webstats and see that a porn site has linked to my website. I clicked on the link (i.e. the page that referred the visitor to my site) and it automatically tried to download some video-playing software to play me a video. I'm at work and don't really want to be mucking about on porn sites (well, actually, I generally don't want to be mucking about on porn sites) - but how would this work? Would the link be in the video? Do I have to watch the video to find out?

I think most importantly I need to know how to stop this site linking to mine.

Any advice gratefully received.

I've had this happen before and fixed it easily enough by taking the embedding off my clips on YouTube. It won't fix the link itself, of course... but does help ensure your clips aren't accessed via the site. The best thing is probably to take off the embedding and contact the porn site to have you removed (after work).

Hi adishakti - I don't have any embedded youtube clips on my site, or any youtube clips come to that - that's one of the confusing things...but you're right - I need to do so more research after work!

Assuming your site is hosted on a Unix/Linux host - I'm pretty sure there is a .htaccess command that will prohibit linking from sites you designate. I've never done it, but Google ".htaccess" and see if I'm remembering correctly.
