Computer sound is terrible
Hi,
I just tried watching the drunken dancer just posted.
Something's wrong with my sound.
Evvverrry thhingggg haasss aaaa weidrddd echoeee (add ddd after most words).
I've also tried playing some music I've downloaded, same thing.
Can this be fixed?

Hi, Gothique,
Send me a link, and I'll see if I get the same effect. But if you downloaded the file to your PC, it sounds like a local problem.

Re: Computer sound is terrible
For this particular clip, it sounded a bit funky on my computer too. But it wasn't too bad, though.

bellydancefanatic
Mine sounds all warbled.
It sounds this way when I play music too (that sounded fine before).
I'm not that smart on computers. I'm hoping I don't need to get a soundcard?
I don't know how to back date the computer, I wonder if that would help?
It worked beautifully the last time I downloaded songs from amazon last month.
:-( I'm bummed! I want to make more music cd's!

Re: Computer sound is terrible
Hmm, did you make any changes in your computer settings lately? One (or some) that you may not have realized? Can you remember? I'm not too bad with computers, so give me a try at it!

Re: Computer sound is terrible
I don't know if my fiance' changed anything.
It worked great in April.
I can still make a cd of existing music files, that are in the computer, but I can't listen to the music files, or watch youtube videos without a lot of distortion.
Should I ask my fiance' if he should back date it? Would I lose my existing music files?
Thank you stetzlaff and bellydancefanatic for your help!

Re: Computer sound is terrible
If you're going to back date it, make sure you save all you precious music and files onto to multiple CDs, and make sure they work before you do anything. Have you asked him if he maybe changed the settings or did anything major? It could be really simple, or you may need to have the sound replaced. Word of caution, when that happened to my computer, it was because spyware and viruses attacked my sound. Do you have security? I hope I'm helping a bit!

Re: Computer sound is terrible
Bellydancefanatic,
Thank you so much for your time and input.
I did ask him today, if he added anything, he said no.
We do have spyware and security, but I'm not sure how good it is.
Yesterday, made a cd and it played o.k. in the stereo, except for one skip.
I recently bought a lot of music off Amazon for my Dad's funeral in April, the downloads were fine, the cd I burned was fine....then a few days later the sound is messed up.
I wonder if I downloaded more music files than this computer can handle?
I'll take your advice and make cd's of all my music files. Ugh.

Re: Computer sound is terrible
Well that's really weird. So, all of the songs play like that? Are you using multiple music programs? Is it possible that the music files are corrupted? I would give a computer specialist a quick call, like Watchdog (or something like that) at Circuit City or that place at Bestbuy. They saved my butt when my computer went on the fritz! They answered my questions over the phone instead of paying all that money for an investigation. Try it. I really can't put my finger on it. Keep me posted, and I'll keep thinking.
Best Wishes!
