Oh Wise Technobhuzzers!

I have now got myself a new mobile phone (I believe you Americans would call it a cell phone), which can take photos & in particular videos. It's a Nokia 6300, in case anyone knows it and its habits. This is the nearest thing to a camcorder I've got. And I was thinking that this could possibly mean I can join in the Choreography of the Month thing.

Before I get completely mired in the technological... um, mire, does anyone have any helpful hints, information, warnings, suggestions, etc., about converting the video on the phone's memory card, into a video that you could load up to Youtube.

I hope that (as usual) bhuzzers know everything and can point me in the right direction.

One of my mobiles is a nokia and I used it last summer to video something...unfortunately, the video quality really isn't the best but I didn't expect it to be because it is, after all, a phone and not a real video camera.

My phone saves the video as a quicktime file (MPEG-4 Movie), I just had a look on youtube and it says that, 'YouTube accepts video files from most digital cameras, camcorders, and cell phones in the .WMV, .AVI, .MOV, and .MPG file formats'. So I *think* if your phone is similar then you should be able to post direct instead of having to convert (I could be wrong!)

Did you try transfering photo or video files from your phone to your computer? Once they're on your computer you can convert them if youtube doesn't accept them. Getting video files from my camera to my computer is the hardest part for me.

Wahey! Thanks Bulbul & Mekyria! I just tried it and it works perfectly. At last, now I can join the 21st century!

Now all I need is a huge memory card, and something I can use for a tripod, and an editing programme, and... and...
