putting clips from dvd on your ipod

Well, this isn't a question but a how-to. I just spend half a day on trying to figure out how it works and wether it can be done at all. Here goes:
I've used this page to guide me through the steps.

You need two programs: DVD decryptor (to get the stuff from the dvd into your computer) then convert it with Videora Converter into an MPG4 format (which is what your ipod needs). Then open itunes, add converted videofiles to the list, connect ipod and click and drag videofiles to ipod.


Both these programs are free and won't leave an anoying watermark in the middle of your clips. (unlike three other programs that I've tried. argh!)

After all this work I wonder why anyone would want to put a lot of movies/clips on their ipod. It takes more time to convert then to watch the dvd. I have to travel by train twice a week thought that it might be fun to watch some inspiring clips on the way. I don't think that I'll do this very often, but it has it use.

Mekyria, thanks so much for this info! I've been unsuccessful at adding video to my ipod without annoying watermarks. I'm very excited now.

It took me half a year to try it and get it done without watermarks too. yay! especially because the watermarks are rather huge, so watching a clip on ipod size is hard with those big letters/shapes.

I also found out that you can scroll through your dvd-file on your ipod by pressing the center button, then scroll. Since the converter usually puts a lot of clips in one big file, this might come in handy too.
