Hmmm...this has happened to me before! It sounds like your computer has spontaneously reset the 'geographical settings' or whatever they're called. try this - if you're using a PC running Windows (sorry, I know nowt about macs or linux), it might work...:
- Go into 'control panel'
- Open up 'Regional & Language Options' (that's what it's called in XP - if you've got an older OS, not sure)
- In the 'Regional Options' tab, make sure the language is set to English (United Kingdom).
- Click on 'Apply'
- Not sure if you'll need to restart before anything happens.
