Pound sign

I have lost my pound sign, my keyboard seems to have reverted to being american. I do not mean this # symbol. I mean the symbol for sterling currency.

Also my " key and my @ key have swapped around, so I press on @ and " comes out and visa versa. Today I even bought a new keyboard thinking the keyboards drivers would solve the problem, but it's still the same ! Help!

Hmmm...this has happened to me before! It sounds like your computer has spontaneously reset the 'geographical settings' or whatever they're called. try this - if you're using a PC running Windows (sorry, I know nowt about macs or linux), it might work...:

- Go into 'control panel'
- Open up 'Regional & Language Options' (that's what it's called in XP - if you've got an older OS, not sure)
- In the 'Regional Options' tab, make sure the language is set to English (United Kingdom).
- Click on 'Apply'
- Not sure if you'll need to restart before anything happens.

Hope that works - keeping me fingers crossed for you!

This is not much of a fix, but, if you need a temporary solution, the keyboard shortcut for £ on North American computers is Alt 156 (typed on the number pad).
