Re: power point question

I've never done this, so can't offer practical advice, but I googled 'convert powerpoint to dvd' and LOADS of suggestions came up, so I guess it's do-able...

Re: power point question

PowerPoint has autoplay and loop settings but other than that I'm no help. It's all about the Pack & Go Wizard in older PPT's or a new method in PPT 07 which is what I have and the help menu will tell you what to do:

Here's what I found in the PowerPoint help menu - note the first paragraph:

Office PowerPoint 2007 does not support the direct burning of content to any DVD formats. As an alternative, follow the steps below to copy your presentation to a folder, and then use DVD-burning software to import the content and create a DVD.

Re: power point question

There are a number of DVD players that will play photo CD's in a slide show. You might want to check whether yours does. If it does, then what you could do is export your PowerPoint images to individual jpg files on disk, and then format them into a photo CD.

I haven't done it myself, but I'd expect your computer has all the necessary tools to do this.

Re: power point question

Another option - you can buy a small device about the size of a VHS tape that lets you show your computer screen on a television. One side of the box plugs into your computer's VGA and sound ports. The other side of the box plugs into your television's video/sound in jacks, usually either RCA or S-video, though it can be one of the newer formats.

I have one that is easy to use and works great. I bought mine at Radio Shack. I've had a couple of years so I don't remember what it cost, maybe in the ballpark of $30-$50.

Re: power point question

did you make the powerpoint file? I'm afraid I've tried this in the past and it is not an easy task. I ended up buying software that would let me create dvds. It is nero and I got it pretty cheap on ebay...it is quite amazing.

I know this would require you to remake the whole powerpoint, but if you plan on doing any video making, editing, importing....or even sound clips. You can edit mp3s to make them shorter, longer, repeat....make 5 songs one, etc.

Re: power point question

Powerpoint may not work that way. I would test it out WAY ahead of time.
