Editing and burning DVDs - HELP!

I was recommended to buy Magix Movie Edit Pro 11 plus. I want it for editing and burning DVDs from my digital video camer.

I can't make head nor tail of the programme I've been through the manual slowly and tried to do what it says but the dialogue boxes that come up don't relate to what it says in the manual and the manual itself is very difficult to understand. I'm usually good at picking up new software but this has me beaten.

I managed to burn a disc... but it's unplayable

Has anyone else used this programme?

is there a better/easier programme to use and if so, should I just bin this one and start again?

I've found burning DVDs to be extremely difficult. I'm not sure if you are able to save your film onto your computer? I had to use a decrypter to burn one DVD copy of my family film from DVD. It doesn't make sense to me since this is my own film and not some copyrighted movie.

Plus, I've made copies for friends of mine as well and some can view the DVD and others can't. I'm finding if you have a 4 x, it will play on *most* players (computer or DVD player), but if you have the newer formats which are 16 x, it won't play in a lot of players. Could this be why you can't play your newly burned DVD?

I have a couple of programmes to make and burn DVDs but unfortunately not the one you are referring to so can't help you there.

Your best bet would be to google Magix Movie Edit Pro and find a chat board which discusses that particular programme.
