Who's going to Ahlan Wa Sahlan Festival in Cairo this year?

I was wondering who was going (or thinking about it) to the Ahlan Wa Sahlan Festival in Cairo this year? I was looking to go through that 13 Day tour wih Mohaned Shanin and Yucy El Banan. Anyone going on this tour?

I fly back from Buenos Aires June 15th, but then I'm doing Summer courses too.

If I make arrangements to go, I'm going to have to find someone to go with. My 2 friends won't go, and everyone in Faten's class either are busy with their children, or are completely out of my age group and probably wouldn't anyway.

I've got to get out more!

I'm going to festival! I'll be flying into Cairo with my fiance and a girlfriend on the first day of the fest. My friend may be looking for someone to room with. Are you interested in a room-mate?

I'll be there, hanging out with Morocco's group. I'm looking forward to it! This will be my 7th trip to Egypt.

Not exactly sure what I'm going to do yet, go for just the festival, or just go on this tour, which includes it. I'm looking more of someone I can find locally who may be going.

Either I've got to make some friends or start being nicer in class!

If you haven't been to Egypt before, I'd suggest that the ideal situation would be to go with a friend and both of you go on one of the dance-oriented tours, whether it's Yusy's and Mohammad's, Morocco's, Scheherezade Imports, or one of the others. A tour will combine sightseeing and the festival so that you can get the most possible out of both. You can sign up for a tour group either as someone who is willing to share a room with someone they pick or as someone with a single room for a surcharge.

If you want to go on your own, it would be a good idea to start making definite plans soon and start the process on the AWS website. You can find the hotel prices in the "Hotels" section and start the registration process in the "Registration" section.

Yucy is SO sweet, maybe ask if she'd help you find a student of HERS to room with. She is very thoughtful and I'm sure will do a wonderful job as tour host.
