Slightly Annoyed with the Belly Dance Shop

OK, so ordinarily I am a fan of local vendors, especially the good service I have received from the Belly Dance Shop. However, my recent purchase was a dud. I ordered some Lycra Flair dance pants for $48 and they got a hole in them the second time I wore them! Also, these pants have no brand name except the Belly Dance Shop, which means they probably produce them or have someone make them for them. They are also extremely cheap...you can see through them!

Anyway, I don't think it is unreasonable to expect a pair of $48 pants to hold up when they are still new. So I sent them an e-mail about my disatisfaction and...nothing. Not a word. Seriously! I expected way more from them in terms of quality, and especially customer service.

I can patch up the hole myself, but I don't think I should have to. My friend who bought the same pair of pants from them says they have held up really well...why are they making cheap-expensive crap! I am annoyed. Thanks for the vent.

They usually have really nice quality items and great customer service, so I'm sure they will take care of this for you. There could be some odd reason why your email message didn't reach them.

I believe there was a thread recently saying that The Belly Dance Shop was having email problems with Comcast. They may have never gotten your email, so I'd give them a call to be sure - especially if they're local to you.

I think that was for BellydanceStore.biz - the one in Maryland. But I agree that The Belly Dance Shop (the one in North Carolina, right?) may not have received your email.

OK, so they wrote me back and gave me a $5 off coupon. Problem solved...and time to take out the needle and thread!
