Marta said that you would get a refund or did you request a refund? I got an answer from Victoria, she said that the month of August was a holiday for school, so many workers take that time off. Like I said, I'm going to wait another month because I ordered three costumes (got a great discount) and I don't want to rush their work on them for fear that I may get some fugly costume.

woohoo - my great loop arrived and it's relatively suitable. The only problems are a) the hips are too big - this is my fault for losing weight and b) I don't think the bra size has anything to do with what I ordered. But I can squeeze into it.
I definitely don't want to go through the rectification process - it's good enough as it is.

Jasani,
I pretty much demanded a refund. I specifically said I needed it for May, and here it is September.....

Hi maria,
I just read your post today and I was glad that I was not alone in this enternal wait.
I have ordered a costume from Dahlal in March and it is already Sept and I haven't heard any news from them. The only thing I have noticed is that they have increased the price of the costume I ordered.
Cause I am from Asia, which is so far away and due to time zone difference, I can't call them. Right now, I am just waiting... honestly, I have half a mind to cancel my order.
Recently I have purchased a costume from them and it didn't fit, so I returned it back and my refund never came. I was told to wait for Dahlal to return.
I am quite tired of this waiting game.

well, i'll believe my bauchladen dress was shipped when I see it.
Yes, I'm jaded.
I just ordered with Audrena - and she has a new business relationship with Amira of Pharonics, so she is supposed to have my new costume in the november shipment, so we will see how that works out.
Now, I need to sell some stuff, *off to look in costume closet*

Hmmmmm....... a fire? I bought several costumes from Marta about two years ago and after a month when I didn't get it, I was told their "Atelier was broken into, the police were investigating, and they would let me know if my costumes were safe as soon as they were allowed back onto the premises.... I did get everything I paid for, and the quality was excellent, the costumes were fabulous, but the story about the break-in .... (there were so many complaints on ebay, they made their feedback "private" so no one could see the individual comments, only the rating! that doen't raise one's confidence!)
I did buy the story at the time and actually felt bad for them -- but now that I hear about a "fire" and all the other stories, I must be the most naive person in the world....... Does anyone else remember anything about the alleged break-in? (I assume someone was trying to steal their designs...)

break-in, a fire, hmmm.
Either they had a string of really bad luck, or - well, it's stories.
They shipped my dress monday with UPS. SO hopefully it will come, not smelling of smoke and made correctly to my sizing.

Dahlal is in Egypt right now. If she does not come back with my Eman, which was custom ordered on april 7th, I want a replacement costume with something she has in stock.
Also, who knows how long amira will take to re-do my bra on my purple and gold pharonics, which I also ordered in April.

No, I think I am because I've got three dresses that are being made right now and they have only finished the skirts. Supposedly they are working on the bras and extras. I don't know but I sent both Marta and Victoria a "request for status".
Other gals wait for 8-9 months just for one costume and don't hear anything until it turns up at their door step. Am I being rediculous in wanting three costumes to show up after six months?

That's a good idea. I told them that if she does not return with mine that I ordered in February that I want a refund. But an in-stock costume would also be an option...thanks for the idea!

More Dahlal Frustration!!!!
Well..Dahlal was supposed to be back in the office today from Egypt after an "inperson" meeting with Eman - with some of the custom Eman's in-hand. I called, and got the same old line I've been getting for the last 2 months at least. "We're expecting a shipment from Eman in about 2 weeks" and we'll let you know if yours comes in with it, or maybe comes in before. Yeah right - like it'll come in before.
I don't know what's going on here. I ordered this costume back on FEBRUARY 15th. I'm thinking of just telling them to forget it. It's going on 8 months now to receive this costume - and that's assuming it DOES actually come in on delivery in 2 weeks time - I've made all the payments except for the final one. I really want the costume, but it's the principle of the matter. I'm seriously thinking of just canceling it for my $$ back, and ordering something that is "in stock" from somebody else.
...what to do...what to do...
Any guidance/thoughts/suggestions from anybody?

I wonder if she came back with my eman. i'll give a call to the office.
I have no advice - because my advice is not to custom order anymore, and I certainly don't take my own advice.

i just got an email from dahlal, i called earlier, debbie came back with my eman, and it is now being hemmed because skirt is too long.
hopefully, when i get it, the bra and belt will be correct.
here's hoping.
will let everyone know.
the costume is gorgeous though, and i really hope i get it within a week or so, i've got lots of pre-holiday and holiday gigs coming up, and it's a perfect fall color.
(earthy elegance, the rich burgandy velvet on dahal's site.)
Liza, i didn't ask about pharonics, i would give them a call or email.

Ok...
...now I'm p*ssed off. Why do I get the story that she did not come back with any Emans...and now Maria is told she came back with hers?
That's it. I've had it. I'm calling them - I want my $$ back. This is totally ridiculous.

I just got my Eman. It's absolutely stunning. The color is to die for.
However............
it's about 1 1/2 inches too short and the gauntlets are waaaayyyy to tight. they are made for a 5 year old.
otherwise, i think i'm going to have one of my students, a seamstress, sew the chiffon veil along the bottom for some length, maybe? I'm not sure what to do?

Dahlal took my eman back, shipping at their expense, and is adding 2 inches to the bottom of the skirt.
I should have it next week.
My pharonics extra large bra is also coming next week, Pharonics fixed it pronto.
I am a c/d and it came a ddd/e cup, no kidding.

You know what, they are only hurting themselves. Bhuz is a BIG community and you can't tell me a lot of people aren't deciding not to purchase their stuff after reading about all of our horror stories. Maybe someday they'll get their sh*t together. Power to the bellydancers! Down with arrogant and dishonest vendors!
(okay not really "down" ... more just "get your act together") ;-)

Luv your profile pic!
Yes, I got my bauchladen, and I immediately put it up for sale. It's beautiful but waaaay too long on me. Just don't have time or energy to fix it.
It's on bhuz - the red turkish and silver dress thread on swap board.
I'm selling it for a steal of a price after what I paid for it.
