We3 Bellydance - Update
I ordered 11 silk veils for my troupe from We3 Bellydance off but-it-now on Ebay several weeks ago. We just received the veils this week after it is too late to give negative feedback, file a claim with Ebay, or file a paypal complaint.
The problem is that we only received 10, not the 11 veils that I paid for. Plus, two of the veils had holes in them! I have emailed, but received no response. My troupe members are dissappointed and so am I.
I had thought We3 had a strong reputation and that is why I went with them. I didn't expect Akai quality for only $250, but I did expect the veils not to have holes in them and I expected to receive the 11 that I paid for.
I am going to email again, but after this experience, I would not recommend this vendor.

holes!! oh my. they have taken returns from me twice...it may take a day or two to get an email response, but my experience with them has been good. I'm sorry to hear about this...and I hope they rectify the situation!

I ordered some apparel from We3. When it came it had holes in the fabric, and lots of runs as well. The sewing was something shocking as well - big basting stitches the size of a baby's thumb untied ends sticking out every which way, etc etc.
I was really frustrated and thought abotu emailing them to let them know that perhaps some quality control before shipping would be nice. But having seen the flamewars they've had in the past, I'm just not going to bother.
The real shame is that the DESIGN is really pretty, it's just the execution that is crap. I don't think this ensemble would stand up to a single performance right now, so I am going to be restitching it myself.

I had problems with them very long ago, and no response to emails. I called them and very politely asked for a resolution - basically that didn't happen, though. I'd also file a complaint with their local BBB, and mention that fact on the phone to them.

Hi! I have to speak up on this, as I am glad I am not the only one out there. I ordered a skirt from W3 in early November last year - lots of time for my performance early March 2007. It arrived near the end of February! The workmanship was terrible and the item very overpriced. They are the only vendor I have ever left negative feedback for on ebay. She accused me of not trying to work it out, and I should have returned the item - but sorry, it was way too late for that. The photos on their site look great - but from what I have seen, it is all illusion. I have never worn the skirt because it is scratchy and ill-fitting. Not much of a bargain.

I've had so-so experiences with them. One Turkish skirt/veil/vest costume was very delayed by customs, and the seams were not finished on just the skirt. I did manage to get a discount for the delay, so I just finished the seams myself. Everything has held together. I had a little trouble getting through with email here. I've gotten mailed the wrong size/color top before, and had quick replacement after email.
So I have had some problems, but they were worked out via messages.

I've gotten some very very nice things from them, last about 3 years ago. I won't do business with them again because:
- shipping is waaaayyyyy toooooo sloooooooow
- quality dropped
- no response to emails
- retaliatory negative feedback (not to me, saw them leaving for others who waited overly long for products
Good things, i've had great experiences with them over the phone, they have been accomodating and I found if I need things in a hurry, I could call and they would both sell them to me and ship them immideatly without going through ebay.

That is all good to know. Especially that most of you had better luck with telephone calls. I am so used to doing everything online, that I forget about that old thing the telephone. LOL
So, I will try to call them Monday.
I appreciate all of your input with this!

UPDATE
So, Isabel has finally responded to my emails to We3 and she apologized for the flaws in the veils. She said if I ship them back, she will refund my shipping and exchange the veils. She also said the 11th veil was still on order, so maybe in a week or two.
I know the shipping is terribly slow, but I will be satisfied if she replaces the damaged veils and comes through with the 11th veil. Then, I'll feel like I received good customer service from We3.
So . . . I'll keep ya posted.

Does anybody have the phone number for WE3? I have tried looking on their eBay profile, and also their website, and cannot find the any phone number for them. I am rally unhappy with the quality of my dress I bought
( http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...MEWN:IT&ih=004 )
and before I leave them negative feedback I would prefer to give them a chance to make it right.
Since their ebay listings always make such a big deal about the volume of emails they get & how they can't be expected to reply to them all, I would rather call instead of doing online

Ebay will provide you with a phone number (if they have one on file for We3) so long as you explain that your reason for wanting it is to resolve a problem on a transaction. Include the ebay item # and a brief (1-2 sentence) description of what the problem is - enough to demonstrate that it really is related to a transaction.
I would recommend using ebay's messaging system to send ALL emailed correspondence rather than emailing the other party directly. That way, if a dispute arises and ebay has to step in, they have a record of the history that has transpired between the parties. This use of their messaging system saved my butt when I was having a problem with a seller who then complained to ebay about me. They reviewed the correspondence and ruled in my favor.
Even if you phone ebay, I'd recommend still sending a message as well so that ebay can see the record of what has occurred.

wish I could remember
all of the specifics. when I was super baby dancer, I was all excited to have ordered veil & matching skirt. my experience was soooo terrible and frustrating. the first issue was that they took sooo long to arrive. then they wouldnt return my emails. when they finally came they arived and were the wrong color. then, again, no email responses. I wish I could remember the specifics. I want to say that it was one of those things where I emailed her like five times over the couse of the week about the color being wrong and then she apologized because she had something going on (can't remember, I think that someones kid was sick). it was one of those things where I couldnt feel decent screaming about her not replyin asap. but again, I think that she never apologized about the color and kinda made it seem like she knew it was gold I ordered, but she was out of gold so picked bronze since its close. something like that. I DO remember she offered to do a return, but after that spotty contact, I was afraid to send it back and have her say she never received them. I think that it took like a good 3 months when all was said and done. I held on to the set, even though it didnt match the costume I had purchased it for & then I realized that I wasnt even into that style of skirt and gave it to someone as a gift.
I hate bad customer service! the product was really pretty & in good condition, even though it wasnt the right color .

Yeah.
I won't order from them again. I had a bad experience about 3 years ago. It took more than 3 months to get my order, the quality was low, they "lost" my order in a move, email response was poor and sometimes wrong (they said they'd sent out the item when they hadn't) blah.blah.blah.

Why is it that "family issues" is ALWAYS the excuse for bad customer service? Is it really bad of me to not believe a seller 9 out of 10 times they give this excuse? I know family issues happen. It's stressful sometimes. But this excuse is ALWAYS the one used when someone calls a seller out on their bad services. It's just crying "wolf" to me.

I too had bad experiences with WE3. Many of their items smell musty & look old & used. They enhance the colors of items in their ads & they lied about having copyrights of items made by OTHERS (NOT THEM) in India.
It takes too long to get the merchandise and it is not of the great quality as it looks in their pics! Just to name a few problems with them.

Ladies, as someone who loves Ebay for shopping and for cleaning the closet...
I was just on We3's Ebay catalog (never seen it before) and would like to point out the warning signs I encountered. If I were shopping for bellydance stuff and encountered this store I don't think I'd buy from them for the following reasons:
1. Readable attitude. This seller obviously has a defensive streak about copyrights and takes five whole lines to point it out to you. One can bet this is the attitude you will encounter when and if anything is amiss with your order.
2. More people than I could fit in my house for a party have given this person negative feedback. Granted, this person has sold thousands of items...but such a high rate of unhappy people should speak for itself. I have bought things from sellers on Ebay who have the same amount of sales but like, one or less negative comments. It really seems to speak the difference for me.
3. If something is really, really cheap but the seller is claiming it to be new and coming from India, you are within your rights as the buyer to request additional photos and ask about the construction. I wouldn't bid until I was satisfied in knowing exactly what I was paying for. If the seller won't provide you with the info you need or doesn't return emails, never bid.
I hope my two cents has helped all the Ebay shoppers here. :stepping off soapbox:

I had bad experience with this company too. I ordered a tie top and the one I got was not the one in the picture that I paid for. Also bought a skirt which was supposed to be 37", and the one that arrived was only 32"! I bought a white veil from them too, but when I opened the package, the veil was sort of a light gray, like it had been washed with something dark. Needless to say, I don't buy from these people anymore.

I used to find myself really attracted to their stuff on e-bay, but that statement about how many e-mails a day they get really bugs me. Do you know how many e-mails a day *I* get? If I include Spam and all my e-mail addresses, I'm certain I could lay claim to more than 150 daily. That's no excuse to tell people right up front that they can't expect any customer service!! (I'd feel differently if the message was "...so call us at this toll-free number instead.")
Once I started ordering from Kajal at www.modemystique.com I stopped even looking at we3 stuff. Kajal's items are beautiful, half the price of we3 most of the time, and he joyfully responds to my e-mails and treats me like a queen.
So there.

That was not my experience with ebay UK. I had a problem and I specifically used their messaging system thinking then they could easily see what was going on, but no I still had to copy and paste the text into a special form for them!!!
