This is an image posted by a UK vendor on the forum orientaldancer.net...actually on many threads advertising her costumes. The costume is up for sale on eBay. I could not for some reason post the link to that.To my mind this looks like a Dahlal model..not the costume necessarily but the model herself . All the photos the vendor has posted on the threads look very different ..not what you would expect of a vendor. But I may be being unduly concerned!

I'm almost positive this is Debbie's model -- but I've never seen that costume on her site--and I stalk her site on an almost daily basis! Would it be possible for the vendor to doctor a photo that seamlessly? That's scary.....

I remember this costume. it was on the sale rack for a long time, I think. And yeah, that's a Dahlal photo.

Perhaps the vendor is selling costumes by the same designer? Still, Dahlal spends a lot of time/money on her photoshoots, it seems unfair to use her work without paying her for it.

Y'know, I think people like this may *believe* they can recreate the lovely designs they see. I think they don't see the difference between the crap they create and the beauty that comes from the ateliers.

I got taken by one of these people on e-bay. The dress I received only vaguely resembled the one in the listing. I've still got the craptastic thing half disassembled, trying to build it a new bra.

And 'send me pics, I can make it?' I guess the value of an original idea/design totally escapes someone who's never had one!

Paypal could have shut down their account, for one. Or they may not like the fees it attaches to payments for businesses. And there's been enough comments about Paypal arbitrarily shutting down accounts that some people avoid it altogether.

It seems as though some people just take liberties. Sometimes like the folks in the restaurant who did so with Afra's photo, they were in such a rush to get a pic of a blonde dancer, they did a daft thing in pinching hers and are they told their dancer they are truly sorry!

I hope these dancers act.
I'm not sure wether anyone on Orientaldancer.net has investigated what the poster is doing. There is one photo that looks like it may be their stock. I'll post the other pics in case someone knows the other dancers and see what I mean abvout genuine stock..They claim to be selling from London but I wonder is it's via London! Anyway they won't be posting anything off for sale at present in the UK.
I really hate this kind of thing.
For the dancers "stolen" :they have paid good money for studio photos for their portfolio and own promotion and along comes Maureen or Mustapha and pretends they can make the costume.
For the suckers who think they are going to get the costume and are cheated of their money.
