www.bellydance-shop.com?

I am in need of an inexpensive Turkish bedlah to use as a troupe costume. Anyone order from Belly Dance Costumes & Hip Scarf Manufacturing - Special size belly dance costume manufacturing. Plus size or small size bellydance costumes or belly dancing accessories.
It is different that The Belly Dance Shop - Costumes, Hip Scarves, Veils... which has higher end cossies.

Thx!

Re: www.bellydance-shop.com?

To answer your question, yes the two sites are different online shops. I would personally go with the first link, The Belly Dance shop. They seem more reputable than the other. I can't remember who said something about the second store. I would hold on to hear more feedback, though. I could be wrong. Everyone has different personal experiences. Hope that helps!!

Best Wishes,

The second link is The BellyDance Shop out of Charlotte and they are fantastic for products and customer service. I have ordered clothing and hip scarves from them, but no costumes. I believe one of the BD publications voted them best vendor in the U.S. I'm not familiar with the other site. Hope this helps!

Re: www.bellydance-shop.com?

I ordered a dance cossie from Bellydance Shop in NC. It was beautiful, but not quite the right size for me. Returning it was sad for me, but the shop was very accomodating on the return. Will definately continue viewing their site and would consider ordering again from them in the future.

Re: www.bellydance-shop.com?

funny you just asked that. I am wondering the same thing. I ordered a costume from the first one, which is in turkey. They were very responsive by e-mail with my questions before I ordered. Now that I have ordered and my credit card has been billed, I can't seem to reach them to confirm a ship date for the costume. I hope it is just a fluke and the person who receives the emails is out of town or their e-mail is down (which happens). I actually came here to ask if anyone out there had experience buying from them. I will let you know if I hear from them. I hope hope hope that I get my costume. I have my first performance on June 14th!

hmmm....I went to the page you suggested, but it seems like I need my tracking number and I haven't received one yet. I guess I just have to wait until I hear back from them. I am getting nervous, but hopefully for no reason. Thanks for the tip.

Re: www.bellydance-shop.com?

Vahana,

Just an update. I heard from belly-dance shop this morning and they said they mailed my costume yesterday. Whew. Glad they got back to me. I'll let you know how it looks when I receive it.

I researched LOTS of places and this seemed like the best deal for the money. It is a basic bra belt set, but custom sized for only $199 (well, I had to add $45 for the larger measurement surcharge), but still!

Re: www.bellydance-shop.com?

I got my costume today! Hooray! I have to say that, even though bellydanceshop (the first one listed in the first post) was very unresponsive to my emails asking for info. They did ship my costume and I finally got a tracking number. good thing, cause I checked online this morning and it said my address was bad--so I contacted DHL and it was redelivered this afternoon.
PROS: The costume looks awesome, the hip belt fits perfect, it is clearly hand made, super fast delivery (they mailed the costume on the 29th and I got it today), they included a little necklace, too (not the one that comes with the costume)
CONS: The bra totally doesn't fit. It is way small. too shallow in the cups and the girls spill out everywhere (and not in a hot look-at-my-cleavage sort of way, either), the hook and eye closure on the bra is not something I will trust while I am bouncing around on stage-clearly needs reinforcement. they were very unresponsive with email after I ordered-I had to get the 2go.com people to email them in order to get a response. The skirt if so flimsy and lame, I will never use it.

Overall, I mostly got what I paid for. That is my two cents.

Re: www.bellydance-shop.com?

Hi Ladies, I was one of those people who had a difficult experience with belldance_shop.com.....the one with the underscore or hyphen! Not to be confused the other shop which I haven't read not even ONE complaint over. Anyways, my experience with them was that they were very repsonsive before shipping, but would not get back to me when I expressed that my order was not what was shown and what I requested according to their pictures on the website. What's funny was that I didn't even ask for anything but for them to be careful and explain their merchandise and be fair to us consumers. They never got back to me after at least 3 different emails over a period of one month. I finally gave up and decided to eat the $100+ that I spent not to mention overseas shipping charges! I'm now stuck with products that I will never wear! Oh well, Live and Learn!

Re: www.bellydance-shop.com?

I have experience with bellydance-shop.com and I'm satisfied. I don't have any problem with item or service. I sent order 16th May and I received 20th May. (For available costumes and I live in Mexico) I received g,ft item too.
I have experience with other online shops and this is best of my shopping. (It's my think)
I didn't know about located Turkey and I learned after received DHL package. I'm happy and I will use again
