Re: Rania of Bhuz, an open letter
Wow
Rania was amazing when I bought from her. She had problems figuring out changes in global priority mailing but kept me updated and was honest when she'd made mistakes and the box came back to her.
It's pretty rare for Rania not to be one stalking or selling costumes. She may be having family obligations or something personal that keeps her away.
I think you'll find a lot of replies like this...a WHOOOOOLE lot.

Re: Rania of Bhuz, an open letter
I believe that she is away on vacation at the moment.
I've purchased from her and she's always been very responsive. I'm not discounting your frustration at all, just stating what my experiences have been.

Re: Rania of Bhuz, an open letter
Rania would be one of the LAST people to worry about here on bhuz...I do think she was going to New York...but there has to be a very good reason this has happened..I hope it works out..

Re: Rania of Bhuz, an open letter
I would be really worried after a month with no communication/no item--frankly even with communication I would still be pretty darn annoyed to still be waiting!

Re: Rania of Bhuz, an open letter
I wouldn't be too worried. Rania is a very established buyer/seller here on Bhuz. If you have her private email, you might want to try that too.

Re: Rania of Bhuz, an open letter
I've had good experiences buying from Rania, too. A month would bother me -- but I'd give her more than one day to respond to a message on Bhuz, especially during Christmas week when people are busy, travelling, not online.

Re: Rania of Bhuz, an open letter
I've purchased from Rania as well, several times and I've never had a problem with her either. This is really odd. I hope she is OK. It's not like her to disregard her transactions or messages.

Re: Rania of Bhuz, an open letter
Who goes on vacation without telling the buyer that they will be incommunicado for a bit?

As much as I would love to just trust that things will work out eventually, I've decided to go ahead and file a PayPal dispute. The time limit is getting close for me to be able to do so, and I am not getting a response to any other communication attempt. I understand that it's a crazy time of year for everyone, but as Sumaya suggested, I should have been notified if delivery was going to be held up by a vacation.

I just had to file a Paypal dispute with an eBay seller. The merchandise didn't arrive, and I got no response to my messages. No merchandise yet, but at least the seller is responding now....

You advertized Isis wings for sale on the Swap Meet page. The original thread is here: http://www.bhuz.com/forum/bellydance...hia-50-ea.html.
As you can see, I paid you $65 for the green wings through PayPal on November 22nd, one month ago today. (We also exchanged a PM or two regarding the cost of also sending the sticks, remember?). On December 14th, I sent you a private message asking about the status of the wings. Perhaps I would not be acting so impatient now if my message had not been ignored. My Sent box indicates that the message was no longer in "unread" status within 24 hours of me writing you.
Then, yesterday, I revived the old thread and asked you about the wings publicly. Still no response. I realize that threads fly off the first page of the Swap Meet page rather quickly due to activity, so perhaps this thread will catch your attention more easily. I will be happy to delete this message the moment I receive my wings.
-Sincerely, Maena

In the meantime, I would be interested to hear if anyone else has also had problems receiving merchandise from Rania, who is a regular in the Swap Meet.

Yes, I have been out of town... New York, then Houston, then the holidays. No excuse... I've had problems with the "stick" issue as I mentioned in my last PM. I have not received a bunch of PMs from you honestly, so maybe something happened with Bhuz?? I am more than happy to just refund you the $65 + Paypal fees at this point. Sorry I REALLY appreciate everyone's positive response... :) Feel so loved.

My no response had nothing to do with going on vacation... I honestly did not receive a message after the last one I responded to??

I just looked in my in box and your message is still there.. .and I did respond to you?? There is not other messages from you. Can we PM from this point forward as I honestly don't see the need to continue this thread. You got my attention loud and clear.

Sorry, one more time... now that this is mentioned public... I feel I need to make an public explanation.
I had my Point of Contact (friend in Portland) pick up 32 sets of Habibi mags for 32 different people that really wanted a set. I told everyone from the start... that those magazines would not mail until I got payment from EVERYONE as I could not ask him to go to the post office every time I got a $30 payment from each person. That was too much to ask. Sooooo... how was I to know that 10 people from those 32 never responded again after begging for their money??? I already fronted $320 ahead of time before receiving any payment from anyone for my friend's $10 fee per set to pick up and stuff and mail (not mentioning storage space he had to use to hold all those mags). It took some people 6 months to send in their $30. $30 seemed like an insignificant amount for some people I realized, but all together, that's $960 that I WAS responsible for. So after 6 months guess what... yes, it was taking forever, I just fronted the rest of the money for all the people who forgot they asked me to get them a set. I EXPLAINED THIS TO EVERYONE IN EMAIL???? I should've never volunteered to do so. In the end, I lost over $300. Some people were so happy to get them in the end, and some people could just complain. Lesson learned by me.

Re: Rania of Bhuz, an open letter
Also, for people who use Macs with the Safari browser, PM's don't work, so be careful. Get an email address for the buyer/seller.
