Talk to me about Wii Fit....
How do you use yours? What do you like about it? I have used ours twice and I guess I'm underwhelmed. I've done the little Wii Fit Plus games, like skiing, balancing on a tightrope, etc, and I've dabbled with Jillian Michaels' Fitness Ultimatum 2010. Are there other games -- maybe the sports disc -- that would be more fun/engrossing?

Re: Talk to me about Wii Fit....
After much begging and whinning from my son and myself, hubby went and bought one last year and it has been setting under the TV for the last six months collecting dust. I really did like the step up and tennis but it got old after awhile with NO results at all.

I've heard there's a Wii belly dance...
haven't found anything on it though.
Wonder how it would be done - hmmm.
Anybody?

My daughter does the Yoga/Pilates on the Wii. She's lost 10 or so pounds. She's also cut out her sodas(my vice) and drinks more water.......

Wii Fit Plus is definitely a step up from the last one, you can create your own routines and what not and I find it really fun! The games are great too, worth the money I say. Still not a substitute for hitting the gym though :)

Re: Talk to me about Wii Fit....
Okay, we just got the Wii this past weekend and I have to admit it was an absolute blast from the past, especially playing Super Mario Brothers. It was like playing with my older brother again. We also got the Wii Resort Sports and that has a lot of great games, totally believable and they get you off your butt!
FYI - Resort Sports needs a MotionPlus cover, which is sold with the game. If you own 2 remotes, look for the game packaged with 2 covers. It costs ten bucks more, about $59, but you'll be saving $20 in the long run. Otherwise, you'll be stuck with just one cover and half the fun. Best Buy and one Game Stop store was out of the 2-package deal, but I had the guy at GS call another one of their stores and they found one for us. It's worth it.
I haven't tried out the Wii Fit but it seems to get a lot of mixed reviews. Bottom line, unless you pull it out and play it, you won't be getting a workout. But Resort Sports has a lot of fun challenges and it's great for playing in groups.

Oh, and my right shoulder was sore for two days from playing table tennis. Go easy on yourself!

Re: Talk to me about Wii Fit....
I agree, my brother has the wii with motion plus, and resort sports is really really fun. I'd get bored with it after a day or so, though. But, we had a fun weekend all playing together.
I think that the active Wii games are a HUGE step up from inactive video games....still no comparison to actually going outside and playing the real thing, though...

Re: Talk to me about Wii Fit....
And here's an update... but I'm still interested in more ideas! I've been playing around with some of the aerobic games and find them a painless way to add a little more workout to the day. I solved the problem of getting bored by working with an Ava Fleming DVD until my brain was full of dance, then doing Wii for the brainless part of my workout.
I will probably be picking up the sports package, and the resort sports sound good too. Can you play the resort games by yourself?

Re: Talk to me about Wii Fit....
Yes, you can play them alone. You probably should until you get used to them. I have to if I want to play against my husband. He's extremely smart and agile (obnoxious, isn't it?), and he never lets me wins. Not even while we were dating! Plus, I'm a sore loser, ha, ha. So, I practice when he's not home just to have a slight chance at winning. It's also nice to spread out in the living room and not be worried about hitting the person next to you (or a lamp). That's the other thing, he doesn't really care about invading my space or accidentally slapping me. LOL. It's all fun and games until someone loses an eye.

I enjoy the Wii Fit. We recently got the Wii Active with the leg strap and that really makes the sweat drip off of you! Overall - my favorite game is still the Wii sports. Nothing like four of us playing tennis.

The wii fit Plus is really good if you intend to use it daily, I like the yoga flows and the weight loss charts. The games are fun and challenging and I feel like my balance is improving.

Re: Talk to me about Wii Fit....
My family (including my 4yr old... he loves it) enjoys the upper body workout. We have Wii Sport - bowling, boxing, tennis... If you get into it, you can get some cardio, but the first few times, you feel kinda silly. Also, the Mario Sonic olympic games. My arms are always like jello when I'm done playing. Running and swimming are the best for exercise, but the rest of them are more just for fun. : )
