Insanity workout dvd by beachbody, anyone done it?

I am an exercise dvd addict. I received the Insanity set at the beginning of october. I did it for two weeks and then totally fell off the wagon. Has anyone tried it and been able to get through it?

It looks literally kind of insane, so.. no. LOL

I have tried some of the P90x stuff on and off and they do look good. Probably similiar in approach.

I was actually afraid of the P90x. The insanity looked less scary to me. haha! oh well, I'm trying it again tomorrow. I'm alternating it with another workout so I only do it twice a week. wish me luck.

Apparently, what I've heard people have been doing is incorporating the dvds with other choices. People enjoy them and don't want to give them up, but many feel that straight insanity leads to dred factor or an over training feeling for them.

Oh, yes, many have gone through it the whole way. Not all had a weight loss, though, because they got hungrier, but enjoyed the highs and increased energy benefits. Of course, YMMV.

Not me!..l;, (I think some of my feeling stems from having such a small workout space available, I am constantly on guard to not hit my head on something when doing this one.)

I haven't tried Insanity but I enjoy Hip-Hop Abs. And I'm doing P90X and am absolutely in love, much to my surprise.

My husband did P90X for a few months, it's definitely made a difference.
He's just starting Insanity but he hasn't been able to get through the entire DVD... it's such intense cardio!

Me? I just watched a few times. I don't think I'll be doing any of this anytime soon, but I can post his opinions/progress once he's been at it for longer.

I too am a P90Xer. I'm on my second 90 days, and the results are astounding.
I haven't tried insanity because I'm so happy with p90x.

Re: Insanity workout dvd by beachbody, anyone done it?

I was ready to do Insanity today but have come down with some new flu like thing. I am so sick of being sick!
Glad to hear I am not the only one jumping around the living room shaking the whole apartment building. my neighbors must hate me for one hour everyday.
I rotate Insanity with the Tracy Anderson Mat dvd and Jillian Michaels No More Trouble Zones.
I'm really trying to slim down these thick legs and build upper body strength. The Insanity is great for legs and tracy A. is great for arms. I actually really happy with my core but find that most videos really concentrate on this area and don't give my legs enough of a workout. How is P90x with legs?

I think it's ok- I don't have a lot to compare it to, though. This morning I did KenpoX; the first half was more upper body and the second was more lower. There is a DVD devoted to legs and imho, the cardio DVDs are full body (so include the legs). I add in a little leg thang by standing in a squat when doing some of the arm training. Sometimes I do squats but it depends on the arm movement- I don't want to get crazy...I like to remember a Tony's Tip of the Day: Don't Smash Your Face!
