Low Iodine diet, what to cook?

My friend and dance sister has been put on a low iodine diet due to her thyroid cancer issues but she has no idea what to cook and her energy levels are too low to go on a recipe hunting mission; so i'm trying to find a few easy, tasty recipes for her. I've looked in a few local bookstores but didn't find anything. I'd like to cook up a bunch of dishes for her, freeze them and put the recipes in a Word document for her for easy reference. Would you know of a good cook book or a web based resource for low iodine diet recipes that I could use?

    Thanks in advance,

I don't know about the recipes, and this may be info she already has, but just in case: I've been surprised at how many people think that low iodine cooking means cooking without salt. Most table salt does contain iodine ("iodized salt") but the iodine is an additive and you can buy "plain salt" without the added iodine. I don't think this is particularly exotic, any big supermarket probably has it. Sea salt I bet probably contains iodine naturally and wouldn't be the thing.

And then I would think she would need a list of high-iodine foods to avoid. Shellfish (how sad:Asad:) and seaweed (who cares?..l;,) are high in iodine but I don't know what else. You could probably Google up a list of high-iodine foods.

Good luck, and good luck to your friend.

    Hi,
    This might help:
    ThyCa: Radioactive Iodine

And they have a free cookbook online.

Hmm... I wonder if there are any recipes in my Eat Clean cookbook that I could adapt for LID.
