    weight loss e-buddy

    Hello everyone,

I would love to have encouragement and a weight loss e-buddy so to speak. I will also help and encourage to lose weight (for those who are interested). I have not been having alot of support and encouragement at home and I really need that to keep going. If any of you are interested please pm me. Maybe we can start even weight loss encouragement club or something, I donno LOL

    Hugs,
    Amani

What a fabulous idea! Not only accountable to yourself but to others!!! And support, support, support! I'm with ya doll! :-) I lost 50 lbs from last January without clubs or otherwise, but did use prevention.com healthtracker and let me tell ya, a world of good. Gained four over the holidays but, meh, back to work Monday, gym and dancing, I am not too worried. This would be great though for those extras I just say 'whatevs' about! Looking forward to it!

Wow - am I a weightloss nerd or what? ;-)

Same with me... But... I have to start moving my caboose a give it a try. So I'm adding this thread to my favorite, God knows I need all the support I can get.

So a few WW receipes would be nice for a change.

    I feel the same way

I've tried the diet sites/blogs, but I just don't like spending all that
time recording things and searching around the websites, so I never
    keep up with them.
I think have a support thread or group or blog on bhuz would be great---I'm on here all the time anyways, and plus it offers the chance to just follow along if you're too timid to post---or just in the mood to "lurk" and
not talk yourself---I get that way sometimes, that I love reading
everything that's happening but just don't feel like joining in.

That can offer just as much support sometimes!

I hear ya there. Alot of times I am a lurker as well. Other times you can't shut me up. We go through periods, I suppose, but reading others posts/blogs would certainly be helpful or inspiring, whether we feel like contributing or not. Your point is a good one and still offers support either way!

    Re: weight loss e-buddy

AWESOME! I am so glad! I have not been getting much encouragement at home either. I have started going on My Calorie Counter website and I record everything I eat. I also workout and do research on what is the best way to maximize it.

So far I have lost 9 pounds and I am willing go encourage all of you, even the ones that are scared to commit. My take on this is try to start with say 30-45 minutes of workout and the best way to commit to it is to do something you REALLY enjoy, not something you feel you have to do and dread it. I am sure you guys have heard it before.

If you feel like recording what you are eating, then it would be much better since you would know exactly how many calories you have already consumed.

I would welcome ideas as well (many heads better than one :-) lol Whether you are lurker or a poster (I am both myself lol) I would love you to get benefit out of it. Even you lurked and you got inspired to do something about your health is rewarding whether you have posted here or not. I think what it comes down to is your own willpower and we all have it, we just have to use it.

The way I track my progress is not entirely on the weight scale, I also do the measurements once a week. I have heard somewhere that you should weigh yourself once a week preferrably at the same time. I think best way would be before your breakfast when all the food is digested.

Anyways, we will talk more about it, I gotta run, my Hindi teacher is here.

    Hugs to all,
    Amani

Me too, I just finished off the maple pecan pie that was left yesterday - now there is the container of fudge still left. Had a piece after lunch. I do so much better when there is none of this in the house!

I have hard time sometimes too when it comes to sugar. My main probem was however to stop drinking diet soda. Although for the longest time I have not had regular one, nor I have cravings for, but the diet one was a problem, now I am starting to go with water and unsweetened ice tea. I am getting better.... Still long way to go, but I know I will get there. My weigh in is this Tuesday...

I got a wii fit for christmas and I've been trying to commit myself to at least 30 minutes a day on it. I also got Jillian michaels Resolution 2010.. and that bugger is HARD!

I'm not sure how accountable I can be.. but I'd love to lurk and see how eeryone is doing. I have about 60 lbs to lose.

I'm in to! Sign me up! I don't get encouragement from home either. I get funny looks and the expectation that I'm going to stray.

No one in my house doesn't understand the physical challenges I put myself through to look better in costuming/dancing.

I am so buying Canalletics this week. I also bought a very small TV this weekend for my bedroom so that I can do DVDs in my room because roomates have taken over the living room TV. I like to drill in private, anyways.

Chocolate is hard to give up or eat in small quantities. It is for me. I have to give it up entirely or I'll just eateateat it.

OMG girls well, I have been slaving this week literally, I am bumping up my weight training as well. I think I will go down on cardio from 90 min a day to 60 min or I will burn out. I try my best to stay away from chocolate.

Yes, please don't burn out! Aside from that, I found that when I worked out everyday (cardio 5 times a week, weights 3 and dance 2) my body got too used to it and I plateaued longer. I don't really know how that works, or if it is different for everyone, but once I started taking small breaks in between workouts, it gave my body more of a challenge and seemed to rev my metabolism a little more and the weight would start coming off again. I hadn't been to the gym in the last two weeks because of the holidays and went back today. Gawd did it feel good and although I did the same workout, I really felt it which made me feel better afterwards.

Best of luck and the main thing is to get healthy. Looking and feeling great is a wonderful by-product though, hehe.

That is very disheartening and I feel for ya!! Nothing worse than the people you love not supporting you. What is Canelletics?
