Canned beans vs dried
If a recipe calls for a 13 oz can of beans and I want to replace that with dried, what weight do I need?

Re: Canned beans vs dried
Equivalent of the soaked, cooked dried beans. 13 oz. canned is different from 13 oz. dried.

Re: Canned beans vs dried
This is the guide I always go by:
* 1 cup dry beans = 2 to 3 cups cooked beans
* 1-2/3 cups cooked beans = One 15-ounce can of drained, rinsed beans
So I would go with like 3/4 cups dried. It won't be perfect, but it doesn't bother me to apporximate in cooking.
