Thread: I'm Hormone Free! So Excited! (Gals only)

I just felt like saying how excited I am to finally be hormone free!

I finally quit the pill after being on it for almost 6 years and just got my paragard IUD inserted a few days ago. I feel great already! I've got a bit more energy again, my mind doesn't feel so foggy, no more headaches so far, I'm not feeling moody or anxious... and each day I'm feeling better. I'm so happy to be hormone free. ..g.:

I do have a question for you ladies with IUD/IUC's. I've been using a menstrual cup for 3 years. My doctor said it'd be fine to use it with the IUD (just like it's fine to use tampons), but I'm wondering what your experiences with it are... how to avoid pulling the strings, did any of you accidentally expel the IUD, etc.

I can't help you with your question, but I will say CONGRATS! I felt so much better when I got off the pill. YAY!

Yea for IUD's! I cant give you any advice other than I never have problems with my tampons. I too feel so much better, I've dropped about 30 pounds- which also could be from better diet and excersise, but the mood swings, headaches, inappetience and nausea are all gone!

I hope I drop the weight I gained while on the pill (about 40lbs). I already feel like I've got more energy and have been much more active now than when I was on the pill.

Well, I went ahead and used my cup for my whole cycle and it worked just fine! Just thought I'd share for anyone who's interested.
