... and it's driving me nut! ..c::
It's been 3 days now, not all the time, but maybe 12 to 15 times a day.
It could be because of stress: the house need major plumbing repair, the plumber is coming back Saterday to finish the job. He already cuts 6 holes in our kitchen's celling!
The hubby also sugested that I take magnesium supplements. Maybe I'll try taking a quiet meditation moment tonight.
Until then...

Re: My right eyelid twitches...
I just recently read that stress causes eyelid twitching. Lack of sleep is another cause, which could also be related to stress.
I've had similar experiences and sometimes they lasted for months! I'm sure that's not what you wanted to hear, but don't fear, it will go away eventually.
Hugs,
Azeeza

Re: My right eyelid twitches...
Get some rest! You might try a warm compress as well.
I've dealt with this in the past. It seems to be a warning from your body that it needs some TLC. Disregard it and your body will start sending MUCH more intrusive signals, like an illness that will put you in bed for some much-needed rest.
Sleep, drink lots of fluids, eat a clean diet with lots of raw veggies and give yourself some downtime.

Re: My right eyelid twitches...
Same thing happened to me my first year of college... lasted on and off for months. My doc told me that it was a combination of lack of sleep and stress. I started taking a multivitamin, tried getting more sleep, and began meditation and other relaxation techniques and the twitching stopped. I think the extra sleep was what helped the most though.

Re: My right eyelid twitches...
I had this problem earlier this year. My right eye twitched for a month. One of my troupe mates is a nurse and recommended a magnesium supplement. Worked like a charm.

Re: My right eyelid twitches...
Another possible cause can be irritation. When one of my contact lenses got some build-up on it that irritated my eye, my eyelid started to twitch. I had the optometrist give my lenses a good cleaning, and the problem went away.
I have also had this caused by stress and lack of sleep. I dealt with those issues, and the problem went away, but it took a few weeks.

Re: My right eyelid twitches...
I get this as well when I am super tired. I get insomneia and that is when it really kicks in. I also get it from stress. A little R&R helps me (along with a nice sleeping pill!)

Re: My right eyelid twitches...
According to my doc, it's very often caused by stress, exhaustion, dehydration, vitamin/mineral deficiencies, or a combination of the above. Get some rest, drink lots of water, be kind to yourself, and take care.

I've heard that this can be due to a lack of potassium or other mineral in your body

Re: My right eyelid twitches...
When my stress levels are too high or have been lasting too long my right eye starts to twitch too. TLC, meditation, taking charge of whatever situaton is causing the stress helps.
This exercise helps me:

Re: My right eyelid twitches...
Thank you all ladies! I'll do my best to be good to myself. Also I have to take an appointment with my GP this month to renew my prescriptions (high blood pressure) and for a bi-anual checkup.
I also want to ask her about the possibility of "sleep apnea"! I'm not a snorer, but my hubby says that often during the night I wake him up because he hears me exhale very loudly..w.: Like I've been holding my breath for a while...c::
And lately, I've been having these urges to sleep in the middle of the day, at the office or sitting down in the metro! So I'll keep you posted!
Hugs!

Re: My right eyelid twitches...
I've had this happen before, and it always happens during periods when I'm overworked and not getting enough sleep, so I'm with all the people who recommend more sleep as the primary remedy.

Re: My right eyelid twitches...
I'd seriously consider the stress factor and try to get some rest.
Also look into the possibility of magnesium deficiency. It's actually quite common and easy to fix. I regularly run into this when I am really active- taking an occasional magnesium supplement takes care of it for me. If you are on other medications (did you mention blood pressure check?), you'll want to ask your GP first.

Re: My right eyelid twitches...
Oh! I will have to try the magnesium next time this happens to me: from being worn out, worn down, and yes, as a prelude to getting sick or accident from carelessness. A good warning sign for me to sloooow down and take care of myself. Warm compress definitely helps me too, also probably because then I am also lying down & resting!

Re: My right eyelid twitches...
I get this fairly regularly. I'm a stay-at-home mom with 2 kids, so I don't get much sleep and am stressed out a lot. Plus, I actually have an allergy- I am actually allergic to the protein in my eyes (and my eyes produce 3 times the normal amount of this protein), so my eyes eat contacts. For this reason, I have to wear disposable contacts (until Lasik is in the budget). So when I go much more than the regular 2 weeks with my disposables, I get the eye twitch. Too much protein build-up, irritation- reminder to change to a new pair.

Re: My right eyelid twitches... UP DATE: Yay for magnesium supplements!
Well finally, I think the combo of good nights sleep, magnesium supplement, walking and gardening did work.
Saturday, I had very few twitching episodes (maybe about 6) and and even fewer on Sunday (only 4 times)!
And nothing today so far, so yippee! Thanks again for your support!
Lets keep up the good healty life! Hugs!
