Thread: Post-baby hips?

Have any of you with children found your hips were permanently larger after kids? After my daughter, they went right back to their normal size. However, it's been 6 months with my son (at which point they were normal size with child #1) and they haven't shrunk AT ALL.

Mind you, I always thought I'd look better with bigger hips (I'm 5'9" and my pre-preggo hips were size 4, sometimes 2) but I'm wondering if I'm going to need to get a new costume wardrobe?

How long did it take with you gals?

i haven't had kids, but i hope my hips do that when i do. ^_^

My understanding is that on a skeletal level, there can be up to a 1 inch change in the size of your hips post 2nd child. Most women don't have this type of change after their first for some unknown reason. Everything else is a shift in fat and muscle. So the next questions are have you lost all you baby weight and how are you physically carrying your little one? What muscles are you using more now than you did with child #1?
